My proudest moments were seeing my students SUCCEED!!! and finishing up the State Sock collection.
What’s the itchiest project you’ve ever made? I made my son a Super Secret Ninja Sweater in 100% wool, and he complained that it was too “scratchy”. 🤷🏻♀️
Who else loved that little paperclip?
Thankful for all my followers here!

You only have one reputation, and if you lose it, it is very hard to restore!
Best way to keep a good reputation as a designer?
Hire a tech editor to look over your work before you publish! The benefits of hiring one are too many for this post, but the biggest benefit you'll have is the peace of mind that your pattern is error free, and your reputation will remain excellent!
Need an editor? Message me or check out for a pain-free method of hiring one!

Community: one of the often overlooked benefits of becoming a tech editor!
Unlike other jobs, when you join the world of tech editing, you are not competing with other editors, you’re collaborating.
Tech editors are some of the most kind, helpful individuals I’ve met. When you need help, there are always at least a half a dozen that will jump in, usually more!
I know I wouldn’t be at this point in my fiber based business if it wasn’t for other editors!
Ready to join a world where you encourage rather than compete?
Maybe interested in learning more?
There is a FREE workshop happening this week-and it’s not too late to join in-where you can get some real answers about what it takes to be an editor.

If you have excellent crochet skills and an eye for detail, you might make a great editor! Join us today through Friday for a free video workshop on crochet technical editing.
3 video sessions will cover:
What a tech editor does
What kind of equipment and tech you need to edit

I recently had a friend start learning how to crochet, and she asked me where to go for good beginner patterns. The only places I would send her to (online) were places I knew that the patterns had seen a tech editor. This friend decided to use a free pattern that they found on a blog, then called me up, saying that they were doing some thing wrong because their project didn’t match the picture. I took a look at their project. I took a look at the pattern. The pattern was full of errors and missing pieces. My poor friend was thinking that she had made mistakes herself when the real problem was that the pattern she found had never seen a tech editor.
If you are a crochet designer that sends your patterns to an editor before publishing, drop a comment below. I would love to send new crocheters your way!
If you don’t use an editor, please consider doing so!

I’ll be honest, when I first started out, I couldn’t see the benefit of a good tech editor. Fast forward over a decade, and I wouldn’t publish a pattern without one. My editor is worth every single dollar! And more.

Are you a knitting or crochet designer?
Want to be known as one of the best? Have a great reputation?
Some of the most talented and popular designers I have ever met write some of the worst patterns! I love them, but it’s true! Grammar and math errors throughout!
They keep their stellar reputation intact because they hire a tech editor to shine and polish up their crochet or knitting patterns before publishing.
Every (and I DO mean every) pattern benefits from having a trained pair of eyes check the math and grammar line by line.
If you are a designer and have been thinking of hiring a tech editor, message me! I can direct you to a whole group of professionally trained editors, both knit and crochet, that would love to help make your patterns the BEST patterns!
Punctuation matters! Especially in knit and crochet patterns!
