Daisy Laparra
Hablo Español.
Based in San Antonio, Texas, I design branding and communications
materials to help solopreneurs and small business owners in a variety
of industries, including restaurant, hospitality, and real estate attract and serve customers.
Been keeping busy lately. This is my most recent project: a logo for an artisan tea brand.
Design does help create culture. I think other things contribute to culture as well, such as music, food, history, and language, but design helps solidify a culture visually. This is why I love to travel! One of my favorite places to travel to was Hawaii. What other places have rich cultures that you've experienced?
A or B? Which would you choose? Last two photos show the one the client chose
What do you all think? I tend to agree. Art gives you pause to think and analyze what you see - to ask questions. Design is primarily meant to solve a problem. Think of a horribly designed website vs. a simple, clean, easy-to-navigate site. The design of that site is important so that you could find exactly what you need without clicking link after link. A strong, memorable logo and solid, consistent branding helps your customers see your company as that: strong, solid, consistent, and memorable.
Local bakery rebrand. 🧁 Support small businesses! If you haven't gone to A Sweet Retreat, take a peek here: https://loom.ly/Bo5JKk0. Those of you that have gone, what's your favorite?
Happy International Women's Day! 2nd photo is a collage I did...just playing around on Procreate using some amazing new oil brushes I got from MattyB (on Gumroad). I love the look of the paint strokes and not overly blended. If you don't recognize the phenomenal women in this collage: ....you must be living under a rock! 😄 [Megan Markle, Stacey Abrams, Greta Thunberg, Jill Biden, Amanda Gorman]
Looking through these photos I took in summer 2019 🔅 and missing the days where we could hang out with neighbors & friends without the worry of pandemic. 😷 Even so, we're going to make the most of our last summer in Kentucky. 💛
A or B? These (image #1) are two concepts that I presented to a client. What do you all think? The last two images show which one the client chose.
Do you agree? I do. I think first and foremost, design needs to be functional, otherwise, it has failed. 👍 or 👎?
A little "behind the scenes" of my process for my lovely client's logo. Would you have chosen another comp?
One of my recent collaborations has been with Integrative Health Coach and Writer, Rosy Crumpton . In order to distinguish her health coaching from her writing career, she launched Sophrosyne Wellness. Together, we branded it and launched her website. We continue to work together and it's one of the most fulfilling collaborations in which I've taken part. 🌹
