😍 2 Ingredient Cinnamon Ornaments 👏
🔺 Warning: they smell amazing! 🤗

• 1 1/2 Cup Cinnamon (reserve 1/4 cup)
• 1 cup applesauce

Preheat Oven to 200•
(you can also air dry- takes a few days)

- Mix applesauce & Cinnamon in mixer or get your fingers dirty, like we do!

- Mix together until you form a dough. Use extra 1/4 cup cinnamon as you would flour to sprinkle onto tabletop & roll as you would cookies.

- Add cinnamon to table and some to top of dough and roll out with a rolling pin ( or a cup like we did this evening because my children love to hide my baking utensils 😂) Roll out dough, about 1/4- 1/2 inch thick ( don’t make too thick or they will be to heavy for tree limb to support) and if you make too thin they will be very fragile).

- Now it’s time for the cookie cutters. Place ornaments on a sheet of parchment paper (placed on cookie sheet).

- Poke a small hole using a straw or similar at the top of ornament cut out. (this will allow you to feed ribbon/twine through).

- Bake at 200• for 1-2 hours or until dry/hardened. You can also let air dry, it takes a few days.

When dried & cooled - feed twine: ribbon of choice through and tie a knot or bow. Now they’re all ready to hang!

It will make your house smell like a cinnamon factory - so I’d have a fan running or a few windows open for a slight breeze. The oven temp will compensate for the windows being cracked 😉.

They will last for a few years or longer! They are fragile so be careful when handling. They lose potency after a year or so. We love the fresh, natural smell of cinnamon added to our tree - so we make them every year and add to the collection!

🌿 How to Make Lavender Tea

Ingredients:
• One tablespoon organic dried lavender buds
• 2 cups water
• 2-3 Tablespoons Local Honey
• Pinch of Organic Sugar

Boil Organic dried lavender buds in two cups of water for approximately 10 minutes. Strain, & enjoy! { Makes one cup }

▪️Poison Ivy: Soothing with Essential Oils

Gently Rub coconut oil on affected areas. Add a drop {or two for larger areas} on the affected areas to relieve itch and inflammation.
The most effective oils to use: Lavender, tea tree, rosemary, myrrh, chamomile, peppermint and eucalyptus. [peppermint & eucalyptus will add a cooling sensation, recommended for adults only]

For additional relief, apply a cold compress, such as a cool washcloth to affected areas before applying oils.

▪️Identifying Poison Ivy & How to Avoid

The plant is typically a dark green leaf that resembles a tear drop shape. It will grow in groups of 3 leaves, similar to other poisonous plants [it’s safe to say just to avoid plants with leaves in groups of three]. Using gloves while gardening can help, however, you’ll still want to wash hands and gloves after use.
Poison Ivy will thrive pretty much anywhere and loves to climb up trees, fencing and in garden and flower beds. If you do come in contact with the plant, be sure to wash hands thoroughly and put clothing directly into washer. Disinfect door k***s, or anything you’ve come into contact with to prevent spreading the oil further. A rash may occur and will typically emerge 2-5 days after coming into contact with the plant and can potentially last a few weeks.
