It was such a beautiful day today that it
had me dreaming of Summer and Summer travel🌞🧿🌞
To me, this Slim Aarons photo is a chic Summer Vibe all on it’s own
It has had a permanent spot on my Summer Mood Board for decades, and has inspired me style wise, since the 90s

I first discovered it when It was featured in a special issue of
“Town & Country
The Women Our Favorite Portraits 1952-1992”

It features the Gorgeous American actress Cornelia Sharpe in St Tropez, 1972, photographed in the most fabulous of bikinis and matching pareo👙

And, she has accessorized her bikini with a metal hip belt ….Chiiiiiiiiic!!!!
I mean, come on!!!! 😍😍😍
I adore in general, and this photo is one of my all time favorites ❤️

I pretty much save everything, but for some reason, I sold my collection of Gucci loafers from the 90s a while ago, and have just recently regretted doing so.

Remember when editorials in Vogue told a story and were aspirational ? When they made an impact and were memorable (and in my case, referenced decades after they were first published)?
SHELL GAME , American June 1990 is one of my favorite editorials and continues to inspire me 33 years later!!
It is just absolute perfection

She is wearing a beautiful dress designed by the British Designer Oliver Messel.
This dress features a fitted bodice, A-line skirt, and matching belt, and is the most beautiful shade of green .
Green was a favourite colour of Oliver Messel’s and one of the legacies he left was “Messel green”, his trademark shade that he often used in his interior designs.
A little bit about Oliver Messel:
Elizabeth’s costumes for the film were designed by Oliver Messel. He is one of the most celebrated English designers, whose work as production designer overlapped the world of costume, set design and architecture. Messel was also the art director for this movie, having created those dramatic sets. Elizabeth’s style in the film is simple and enduring and I think Helen Rose’s words perfectly apply to her look here, as well as in many other films: ‘If you have a magnificent jewel, you put it in a simple setting – you don’t distract from it with a lot of detail🍀🧿❤️🌞
