The Parish church of St. Cynon, Tregynon is an ancient site of worship situated on a hillside overlooking the village.

Work has started on the refurb of the tower! We consulted with MWT about the swifts and fortunately the swifts are nesting at the opposite end of the church, and are not bothered by the builders!

This Sunday- 17th December- at 6.30pm. Everyone welcome to join us singing favourite carols, hearing the Christmas story and sharinng mulled wine and mince pies afterwards!
Today we welcomed Alex Glanville to the P F. Alex is head of property at The Church in Wales, and was instrumental in arranging the lease for the garden. He was suitably impressed! He is based in Cardiff, and took time out of a busy day of meetings to come and see our amazing project. Thank you Alex- and Phil!
What’s under the tarpaulin????
It’s the amazing bench given in memory of Sydney Thomas by the Community Centre Committee. The unveiling will be Saturday 9th December at 2pm, with Sydney’s nephew doing the honours. There will be mulled eine and mince pies in church afterwards. Everyone is welcome!!
The bench has been commissioned from William O’Brien, the local craftsman.
The village Act of Remembrance will take place at the war memorial on Sunday 12th Nov. People gather at 10.50am, with a wreath laying and a minute’s silence observed.
There will be a service in church following this.
Everyone is welcome to either or both, to pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Harvest… what a lovely Harvest Service last night! And wonderful refreshments and company afterwards!! We missed to photograph the harvest loaf, baked by Jean Williams, though 😔 It was eaten too quickly! 🍞
Friday 6th October at 7pm, Harvest Festival in St. Cynon’s. Please join us for a service of thanks for the harvest, with refreshments afterwards. Guest organist, Paul Wardell, and the service will be led by Nicci Midgley.
There will be a collection of dried and tinned foodstuffs that will be donated to the Food Bank.
If you’d like to help decorate the church, we’ll be glad to see you at 3pm Wednesday 4th.

Saturday 30th September, between 10am and 4pm there will be a mowing session of the wild flower meadow in the Parson’s Field. You don’t have to be a man, and you don’t have to bring a dog! Everyone welcome. Tea and cake available in church.
Revd. Jeanette's Leaving Service - Sunday June 25th at 3PM at Kerry Church.
Sunday 11th June- Holy Eucharist at 9.30am with Revd. Jeanette. This will be her last service in Tregynon before heading off at the end of the month to pastures new.
Plant Swap this Saturday- 27th May- at the Parson’s Field!
Everyone is welcome- bring seedlings/plants to swap or buy, and join us for tea in the church. 2 til 4 pm.
The coronation oak is planted! Grown from an acorn from the tree planted for the coronation of King George V in 1911. Thanks to Phil Lycett and John Jones for preparing the ground, and Jean Williams for planting the tree in the Parson’s Field.
Sunday 30th April at 3.30pm, there will be a service in St. Cynon’s where Suzanne will be licensed as Cedewain Mission Area Leader. The service of Choral Evensong will be led by Archdeacon Barry and Quincidi chamber choir. Tea will be in the community centre afterwards.

Sunday May 7th at 9.30am St Cynon’s will be holding a service to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III.
The service will be followed by the planting of the Coronation Oak in the Parson’s Field Garden by Jean Williams. The oak has been grown from an acorn from the coronation oak on the village crossroads. Everyone welcome!
Easter Sunday, April 9th. A Communion service at 9.30am, led by Nicci Midgely, with organist Paul Wardell. Do join us in celebrating this Holy Day! Everyone is welcome!!

PLANT SWAP!!
Saturday March 25th, 2 til 4pm, Parson’s Field, Tregynon.
Everyone is welcome to come and swap plants- indoor, outdoor it doesn’t matter! There’ll be tea and cake in the church during the afternoon.
We’ll hold another on May 27th- to swap all those thousands of bedding plants you’ve over sown!!
Everyone is welcome to attend the Ash Wednesday service in Kerry church.
