Florence holds a special place in my heart, with its ancient yet cozy narrow streets, incredibly beautiful buildings so rich of history and art and amazing views everywhere.
What I love the most is its small and liveable size, but oh you can breath and feel that the greatest artists from the past worked here, it's like a little Rome!
I visited it only a couple of times only for a few hours but it completely stole my heart.🧡
That's why, when showed me the pendant she got when in Florence at , I immediately fell in love with the beautiful bijoux and the atelier behind it, a small artisanal shop that reproduces beautiful jewelry from the original paintings....🥰 such a poetic and typically florentine activity. I don't know when I will be back in Florence, but I definitely want to visit and see their amazing work in reality!

The story of this damask started a while ago, when fell in love with it at first sight! It had to be hers, for her next Renaissance gown. She made a first version, but she wasn't fully convinced, she ordered some more fabric, and added volume and structure. But she wasn't happy yet, she needed the light touch of silk organza! And we have it! The perfect match of yellow organza....a super fast shipment before Christmas and finally all the pieces came together. The final result is simply stunning, as always!!!👏👏👏

We have been quite & silent lately, because we are working on a new project, but we are always here to answer your questions about fabrics and their use. By the way, do you draw your own sewing patterns ?

One of the biggest struggle when it comes to sewing, is having the perfect match of fabrics, sewing notions and supplies. Many people don't have an haberdashery shop near them or it doesn't carry all the required supplies. Fortunately internet is full of websites selling all kind of things, but choosing from screens with different colour settings can be tricky and you risk to end up with a wrong colour. That's why we decided to select and assemble these kits sorting from our collection of vintage buttons, silks and trimmings. This year we can say that "we were at Venice Carnival" with one of our fabrics! Thanks to the lovely and super talented who wore this ensemble for her first party in Venice!
She bought our ecru soft hand silk taffetà a couple years ago, for a project but it happened to be used for another one, as often happens with fabrics 😉
She dyed the silk into this stunning point of pink and we are super happy with the result!

Would you believe that there is a huge community of young reenactors and historical fashion sewists?? I wouldn't until I met a lot of lovely girls and ladies happily sewing beautiful garments from the past!
Today I introduce to you one of the youngest among them: .0 contacted me right away once she saw this stunning blue and gold damask, we chatted a bit about her project like I often do with our clients, and then she asked if we had something to pair with the damask. I suggested our wonderful yellow silk taffetà and the match was made!
When the dress was finished, Amelia tagged us on her Fb page and that's how I discovered that she is very, very young, actually straight out of the college but yet so passionate and enthusiast about sewing, historical costumes and starting her own business
We can't be more happy to see her adventure begin and provide her with some Italian quality fabrics! Follow her too as well! She is also super nice to talk to 😉
