We are super proud. What a year for women’s sport 🤩🤩🤩

Wednesday was abit mad so didn’t really get to explain much of the season.

Over the course of 11 games we have scored 55 goals including 12 different goal scorers, had 12 debuts and a brand new committee.

The aim at the start of the season was to increase female participation in sport (making girls feel comfortable enough to come to training) as well as doing one better than last season and winning the league.

We didn’t want to win it without playing how we wanted to. We played out from the back every game focusing on playing entertaining football on the floor. Many goals came from unbelievable build up play with a few worldies involved here and there (goal of the season will be a tough one).

With an AMAZING committee, an unbelievable coach and the most unreal set of girls women’s football have got promoted for the first time. With varisty to look forward to and a big pre-season, the girls will be more than ready for the tough challenge next season.

Today’s result sees us win the league. So proud of this amazing squad. From those who turn up every Tuesday but don’t play, to those who graft every week for 90 minutes. You’re all amazing and all as important to us wining the league.

A 6-2 win against a very strong Leeds side. The girls played Leeds off the park in the first half, playing some great football which left Leeds constantly chasing the ball. Second half the standard dropped abit but the girls still battled which left us things to work on.

Hi guys, I hope you are all enjoying freshers week as much as we have and it was great to meet some of you over the last few days enquiring about joining football and even coming to our training sessions!

Just a quick reminder we have trials next Tuesday (01/10/19) at 5-7pm at Storthes Hall Astro Turf. If you’re not sure how to get there, there is a bus that runs directly there straight outside of uni near the Oastler Building and the Astro Turf is just slightly up from Storthes Hall bus stop and I’m sure you will see a few friendly faces waiting incase anyone gets lost along the way ☺️
