Lighthouses of North America
This page is a celebration of the lighthouses of North America... Lighthouses are National Treasures.
Most have been neglected to the point they are deteriorating and unsafe. Many have been sold to private individuals or are on the Real Estate market to be sold to the highest bidder. In many cases, these light houses are destroyed because the cost of refurbishment is too expensive. This site is an accumulation of photos, histories and locations of these magnificent structures.
The Cape San Blas lighthouse is located in Port St. Joe, Florida. It was moved to this location in 2014 and subsequently deeded to the City of Port St. Joe.
Heceta Head Lighthouse is located about 13 miles north of Florence, Oregon; about halfway up the Oregon coast, north of California. The scenery along this stretch of highways is one of the most dramatic drives you can hope to make. Between December 11 - 12 and December 18 - 19 from 4 to 7 pm, local artists perform many of the wonderful holiday favorites. Even Santa is known to make appearances. It's probably too late to make reservations this year at the B&B, but you are right on time to enjoy the festivities. Have a very Merry Christmas, this year. We have all earned it!
