We are always mindful of our responsibility to create new roads to travel. Sandra J. Bright-Sanderlin is a wife and mother of two college students. She has been an officer in the United States Army Reserve and educator for more than 15 years. Mrs. Bright-Sanderlin, holds a Master's of Education in Educational Administration and is working on her dissertation as she completes her doctoral degree.

As soon as I saw that my dear friend, SandraBright-Sanderlin's book, Magical Journeys 'Being Extra' was available for purchase, I wasted no time ordering my copy! Cover to cover, this story captured and HELD my attention! From the characters, the language, the story line, and the illustrations to the academic resources provided at the end, this book is AWESOME! Not only is this a great read on its own, but I really believe this soon-to-be series will make young readers want to READ MORE to LEARN MORE! It's like... you're already going to learn about a historical African American figure when you read the book, but I think it will motivate readers to want learn MORE about the person from the story PLUS do their OWN research to discover accomplishments of OTHER African Americans... kinda like, "What ELSE don't I know, and HOW can I find out?" Not sure if I'm making sense, but when you read the book, you'll have a better understanding of what I'm trying to say.❤❤❤❤ Congrats to the Sanderlins!
