Salem Elementary Music
Welcome to the Salem Elementary music room! Find out what your child is doing in music along with important information about our school performances.
So excited for school to start tomorrow!!! Ready to sing, dance, and play!
My 5th graders did an awesome job on both of their performances today. I'm one proud music teacher. Way to go Salem 5th grade!!!
The 4th grade recorder concert is Tuesday, March 1st, at 7:00 in the Salem gym. Students should be back at school by 6:45 in the music room. They may wear nice casual school clothes. They are looking forward to showing off the belts they've earned.
Third grade did an awesome job today. They were so cute and sounded great. We get to do it again tonight!
Third grade will be performing their Christmas program tomorrow, Dec. 8th, at 9:00 a.m. & 7:00 p.m. They are so excited to perform for their friends and families!
4th grade parents: This Friday, Oct. 9, is the last day to order your child a recorder. The cost is $5.75. Please send exact cash or a check made out to Salem Elem. Music. A class recorder will be provided to students that do not order their own, but they will not be allowed to take them home for practice. I encourage each student to have their own for home practice.
5th grade parents: Fifth graders across the district have been invited to perform “The Star Spangled Banner” at the opening of the Hornet Bowl on Thurs., October 8th, at 7:00 pm, on the Bryant High School football field. Students who are performing will get in free and will enter through the “pass” gate. All other family members will have to pay the $4.00 admission fee. Please be there by 6:45 and gather in our school group on the track in front of the home stands. I’m asking students to wear patriotic colors: a red, white, or blue shirt. Casual dress is fine.
Another favorite activity with "The Stars and Stripes Forever" is with our parachute. They get to make the parachute dance with the music.
This week grades 2 - 5 have been studying about the American composer John Philip Sousa using his song, "The Stars and Stripes Forever". One of the activities included note beat divisions with tennis balls. It's always funny to see how many tennis balls go rolling by me.
Why yes, that is a beach ball flying through the air! This is a name game song we've been doing in 5th grade this week. The kids have been having a blast with this one.
My students have had a great time playing in the music centers. Bonus: It has helped me keep my sanity these last few weeks. 😉
My fifth grade did an Awesome job tonight. So proud of their hard work and performance.
Our 5th grade program, World Tour, is TODAY! It's going to be an exciting day. We are ready!
So proud of my fourth graders. They did an awesome job on their recorder concert. You make me happy.
Does anyone have an 18 -24" black light I can borrow for a school activity this weekend? Thanks!
Third grade students working on treble clef line and space notes. They have four different stations to visit.
Inside Santa's workshop. Third grade, tomorrow is dress rehearsal. Don't forget your costume items.
Veterans Day program tomorrow at 8:30. I'm looking forward to hearing my second graders' sweet voices as they sing thanks to the brave men and women for serving and protecting our great country.
3rd grade parents: Our Christmas program is coming up on Tues., Dec. 9th, at 9:00 AM & 7:00 PM. A letter about costumes will be sent home this week.
Saw lots of sweet, smiling faces tonight. All the little hugs make me look forward to Monday.
It's getting closer...
Important August Dates for Salem Elementary! Thanks to the Salem Elementary PTO, students will not be required to purchase school supplies for the forthcoming school year.
Ending the year on a "good note". The students had fun doing music centers the last couple of weeks in music class. Ask your student about the different centers he/she got to experience. It was definitely worth all the effort to put these together. I think it will become an end-of-the-year tradition.
So incredibly proud of the Salem 5th graders. They did an awesome job on both of their shows today. It was "Out of this World"! Thanks for making my job so much fun!!
