Argus is owned by Kayaba Akihiko and is the producer of NerveGear. The fifth floor basement contains the data for the world of Aincrad. When Kayaba Akihiko effectively traps ten thousand players in the game, many of the deceased players' family members sue the company. Argus then files bankruptcy, selling their Cardinal System to RECTO Progress Inc.
