Palestinian citizens of the Al-Lydd (Lod) town inside Israel we are twinning with, commemorated today the anniversary of murder of one of their own, Mousa Hassouna, who was killed in a vigilante attack by an Israeli settler in May ‘21 and a more recent devastating loss of the ‘voice of Palestine’ Shireen Abu Aqleh, who was laid to rest today in the occupied Al Quds/Jerusalem. The Al-Lydd Paletinian demonstrators refused to remove Palestinian flags inspite of requests by the Israeli police. The video is from a great Whipps Cross Hospital rally earlier today supporting a walkout by hundreds of cleaners, porters, security, catering and reception staff employed by SERCO to work in our hospitals. The strikers are demanding an end to low pay and exploitation of outsourced staff working in the NHS and are enjoying support from many in our community. #JobsPayConditions #sercoout
