It was a beautiful day for a golf outing! A special thanks to all of our golfers and sponsors for making our 65th Annual Fundraiser Golf Outing another huge success. With your help, we raised over $10,000 today to support local engineering students through our Chapter Scholarships!

Obituary information for Larry Reed 29/05/2024

We are saddened to hear of the passing of our fellow member Larry Reed, who served the Dixon community in many ways in addition to his time spent with the Rock River Chapter. Larry served the Rock River Chapter since 1968 and was one of our most active Chapter Members who rarely missed a meeting. Larry was the sitting Chair of our Community Outreach Committee and always brought positive vibes to the Chapter, whether it was updating everyone on the latest Habitat for Humanity Build opportunity, or volunteering at our Annual Golf Outing Putt Challenge.

Please take time to show respect to an exemplary engineer, outstanding community member, and devoted family man. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Larry’s family.

A little public service announcement this afternoon. There is a new scam going around with folks being told they can get hundreds of thousands of CDBG grants by paying $7,000 upfront. This is not true. CDBG grants go to units of government not individual people and do not require any sort of upfront payment to apply.

Thank you to State Senator Sally Turner's office for relaying the call to LEAD to vet the information and to Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity for spreading the word throughout Illinois of this fraudulent information.

Please share this information with your friends and neighbors so they don't fall victim.

Protect yourself folks!
