Today H.E Hon Paul Simba Arati officiated the inauguration of the Kisii Municipal board. In his speech the governor directed the board to execute it's duties with accountability , transparency and efficiency.

The governor officially transferred all municipal services from the county to the municipal board.

As a quick gain he directed the board to ensure the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) under construction at ATC be completed and operationalized as soon as possible. The facility will help with waste management in the county and by extension the Lake Region Economic Block.

Enhance child protection policies and combat child labor in sugarcane and soapstone sectors.
Strengthen gender and youth policies for greater equality and opportunities.
Develop infrastructure to improve access to services and stimulate growth.
Increase access to sanitary towels and promote sustainable menstrual hygiene.
This collaboration aims to foster social, economic, and environmental improvements in Kisii County.

MEETING OF THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE OF THE PARTY

The Central Committee of the party has had a meeting with its elected leaders from Migori and Kisii Counties to get a brief following recent worrying incidents in the two counties.

In attendance from Migori was the Governor, Woman Rep, senator and the Mp for Suna West Hon Peter Masara and Sina East MP Junet Mohammed. From Kisii Mps Hon. Kibagendi, Hon Barongo. Hon Osero from Borabu in Nyamira was also present.

What has emerged from the briefing is that there is a clear and calculated plan to use state power to destabilize OdM run counties and constituencies in partnership with rogue members of the party, some subject to ongoing disciplinary proceedings, who have since pledged allegiance to the regime.

The idea seems to be to utilize state force particularly the police and the Provincial administration to prop up the so called rebels in an attempt to pe*****te our strongholds. In Migori police fired teargas at mourners at the direction of Uriri MP Mark Nyamita. Hon Nyamita was invited to today’s meeting but dis not attend.

At this stage the Party wishes to fully dissociate itself from Hon. Nyamita. We have granted his wish to no longer be part of us and advise our members in Uriri and Migori generally that he is an agent of UDA with the assigned task of sowing confusion and discord within ODM. Hon Nyamita does not speak for nor represent the Party at any level and we advise our members to view and treat him and all those who support him accordingly.

In Borabu, UDA MPs in a bid to undermine the area ODM MP brandished employment letters from the TSC and KWS. This bad manners was begun by the CS Education Hon Machogu. There is continued harassment of our leaders including the Governor, MPs and our supporters in Kisii by the police and provincial administration.

SCHOOLS TO reopen on Monday, May 13, President Ruto announces at State House meeting with Kajiado, Laikipia leaders after advice from Kenya Met Department.

Revenue division to the counties has always been a contentious issue. In a bid to come up with a more inclusive formula of allocation the Commission of Revenue Allocation(CRA) invited governors drawn from the Lake Region Economic Block (LREB) to give their views and shade light on special dynamics to consider for the region.

Governor Simba outlined special parameters affecting service delivery in Kisii county as a member of LREB.

The Judicial Service Commision this morning engaged Governor Honourable Simba Arati where the JSC welcomed the cooperation and collaboration with the County Government which has provided land for construction of modern courts at Ogembo and Etago to enhance access to justice.
H.E Simba Arati is also commited to set-up a rescue centre for victims of Sexual and Gender Based Violence in the country.The meeting was on the sideline of the Heads of Station annual meeting in Kisii County.

The occasion was about the youths who have managed to go through the free IC3 programme Courtesy of Kisii County government in partnership with Ajiry .
Governor is determined to extent Digital literacy in all Subcounties in kisii county.

In line with the ideals of Labour Day celebrations on the welfare of the worker, H.E Governor Paul Simba Arati today had an opportunity to consult with a number of employees who have pending issues, affecting their absorption into the County payroll.

Notably, some county employees, who got engaged as from April 2022 are yet to acquire their Personal File numbers to facilitate their salary payment, while others with PF numbers are not receiving their salaries.

Also, a number of staff who were transitioned from the defunct local authorities are yet to be absorbed into the county payroll.

The Governor directed the County Public Service Board to urgently consider having the affected persons on payroll, on a case per case basis, as per the laws of Kenya.

On the same note, the Governor called upon the medical staff who are on strike to immediately resume duty or face disciplinary action.
