16 year old retired National podium level archer turned pistol National Champion & GSSF Master who also likes to hunt, fish & ride BMX / dirt bikes.
Who is Jace? Jace grew up at motocross tracks thanks to his older brother Fin who raced pretty much every single weekend, sometimes up to four different events in a given weekend. Jace had to wait till he turned 4 to be allowed to race too, and raced for 8 years. My home shooting club put on their youth pheasant hunt this last weekend on one of the members own land. At this event we had homemade pheasant launchers to send the birds up so especially the younger kids had an easier time getting a bird. We need to work on making this event run smoother so we can grow it, but overall the kids had a lot of fun.

This weekend I attended a pheasant hunt at South Cuyahoga Sportsmen's Association, I’ve attended this youth hunt for multiple years. They use different fields to group experience levels of the hunters. Until this year, all the fields would have one kid go at a time with 2 launchers to release the birds. But this year for the experienced field they now send 4 kids out at the same time, without launchers. I like this change because it's more challenging and makes it feel like more of an actual hunt.
I also got to talk with one of my old friends that I met a few years ago at the Lake and Trails Organization Shooting Camp and she also writes for the JuniorShooters Magazine.

I shot my last Outdoor G***K Sport Shooting Foundation - GSSF match of the year this weekend. I only had 2 personal bests (on the plates) because the stages were set up pretty hard and it reflects on everyone’s scores, but I still shot very well given the course of fire finishing on the overall podium in 3 of the 5 divisions I competed in. It’s not always about beating previous scores, it’s also about finishing position since the stages do vary a bit from match to match. This was our first time at this event, and we feel it was ran very smooth with multiple setups for each stage to keep everyone moving fast.

Attended a youth pheasant hunt at Richland County Fish & Game Club for the second time, this hunt is ran very well with time slots to keep the day moving smooth. When you pull in you are directed where to park, then you go to their clubhouse for registration, breakfast and kids only raffles. Then you watch a safety video with questions, then go to the trap range to warm up.
You and another youth get drove out to a field with a dog handler and saftey people to watch the fields. You will get multiple opportunities at getting a bird, I even had one fly up just a foot infront of me.
When you get back they will show you how to clean your bird or give you the tools to do it yourself if you already know how. Overall this event is ran very well, and I definitely will be attending again next year for my last youth pheasant hunting season.

Now on the range to dial in my C&H Precision COMP red dot, which came with great factory zeroing.
Other new parts on my new G***k 34 MOS build from Bar-Sto Precision Machine include a match target barrel, trigger, internals, stipling and under cut in the grip which completely changes the feel of this gun. I also added an extended slide lock & magazine release from NDZPerformance; they not only make my guns look better but easier to function too.

I just received my brand new G***k 34 MOS build from Bar-Sto Precision Machine. Bar-Sto did a lot of work on this gun for me and it shows. Parts they added were a match target barrel, trigger, internals, stipling and under cut in the grip which completely changes the feel of this gun. I also added an extended slide lock & magazine release from NDZ Performance; they not only make my guns look better but easier to function too. Then of course went with the C&H Precision COMP red dot which I have been shooting for over a year now and love it.

Huge thanks to Oak Harbor Conservation Club for hosting a youth / veteran waterfowl hunt that me and my dad attended. This was my first time duck hunting, and I ended up getting one woodduck which I was happy about, well technically half a bird since my dad and I both shot it. That was our only legal shot, so glad we made it count.
The guided hunt also included breakfast, lunch and I was given a 6 pack of decoys; now me and my dad can start trying waterfowl hunting on our own.

During The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Nationals over the summer at Camp Perry, I also competed in their inaugural “Steel Challenge” simulator competition where you were able to compete in either rifle or pistol. I competed only in pistol and won not only pistol but also had the overall best score for the entire competition (the results were just published yesterday).
Thanks to Laser Ammo for not only helping me with real live fire events but also virtual ones as well as I train in the comfort of my home using my Laser Ammo training aids.
