Cathal Connolly With Support From Doppler – Ballina Arts Centre Local singer-songwriter Cathal Connolly takes to the stage for his first headline show on November 10th. Cathal Connolly’s music is a heartfelt blend of folk and pop, with catchy melodies and honest, relatable lyrics. His acoustic guitar-driven sound creates an intimate atmosphere, inviting list...
From the Slowdive sound check at The National Stadium earlier this afternoon. I didn't recognise the first song, the second song was Catch The Breeze. They sounded great...
My passport expired today. As a once in a ten year event, surely, surely, the world will want to know.

I've been on Twitter for a few years now, but I've never been tweeted about this much before. I wonder if it's connected to the Elon Musk takeover. 🤔

Wrapped for Artists The standout moments of the year. Shout out to all the fans on Spotify.
I bought a CD online by Isbells - their third album, Billy. From a seller on the continent. Germany, I think. Instead they sent me an album by a band called "Kiss the a**s of a black cat". A real band with a real name, I kid you not. It was a test for witchcraft in the middle ages, apparently. Chantal Acda have you heard of them?
Late evening in Enniscrone
I fractured a bone in my little finger. Playing with the cast on my finger, seeing how it goes...
I fractured a bone in my little finger while on a meditation retreat last week. Settling the mind my ass! Who said meditation was all about focussing on the breath, eh 😀
It makes guitar playing slightly tricky, but hey.
In London for a few days. On the corner of Vivian Road and Roman Road. They're shooting a drama for the BBC. All very hush-hush. We'll find out in a year's time!
From last night's show at the arts centre
It's tonight!

Some unfortunate news...one of the acts for Saturday 23rd has Covid, so we've decided to postpone the show by a week. It will now take place on Saturday July 30 at 8pm as before, that's the bank holiday weekend. I hope you can still make it, if you were planning to come...apologies for the short notice to the change in plan.
I’ll be on The Tommy Marren Show on Midwest Radio tomorrow (Monday) some time after 10am. Listen in!

Somewhere in Ireland, as George Harrison might have said
The new rehearsal room. Functional! Ballina Co. Mayo.
Listening to Other Side by Fragile Audio. It's still a cracking track, even after all these years. Love the guitar on it.

For no apparent reason, in my home town of Ballina, bobdylans is slang for money, and alpacino (or alp for short) is slang for gobsh*te. I'd love to post a picture of either man for this story but I am short on the bobdylans right now. The images are copyrighted...
For no apparent reason, in my home town of Ballina, bobdylans is slang for money, and alpacino (alp for short) is slang for an unpleasant person.
The CD of the album is here. It’s already available on all streaming platforms, but if you just have to have a CD…then DM me with your details. Payment by PayPal.
It costs €10 + €2 postage if you are in Ireland; otherwise, ask me about postage costs! There are 11 tracks on the album. Best, Joe.
Just got my guitar back from in Sligo. Check out the cool “black tie” middle pickup. Thanks Shane for doing such a top job. Looking forward to playing again this summer!
On the beach in Enniscrone, Sligo, Ireland. Trying to see the light. Very cold.
