Just found out I’ve won a prize at the Deeside Art Group exhibition for this painting of Daphne Reid! The exhibition is open 15-16th October (until midday on the 16th) at Westbourne Hall West Kirby

This story illustrates why it’s so important to get permission if you’re going to do a painting based on someone else’s photo.
If the photo isn’t yours and it has been less than 70 years since the copyright owner died, then you are probably breaking copyright law.
