House concert sweetness ✨❤️
About 40 of us packed ourselves in to Erica’s beautiful home while I sang and shared stories of my weird little life. There was soup and bread and wine and kombucha and tears and my heart is full. Thank you! x

Had an absolutely beautiful shoot with Maja Baska Photography behind the lens and e l i s e p o l i t o with her gorgeous floral art. The most wonderful and warm collab I’ve ever been a part of.

I’ll be picking an album cover from this shoot. And I’m setting the release date for April 2025 with singles and film clips to come out before then.

Guys! My fifth solo record! And my eighth record if you include my duo albums with Eagle & The Wolf/Kristen Lee Morris and Loren Kate. Then if we count EPs, well… I’m just starting to sound old.

I’ll be 40 years old when this record comes out. My youngest child will be 5. What a beautiful life I’ve lived as a travelling musician and Mum with so much more to come. My baby years have passed now and I’ve enjoyed them with all of my heart, I now have a bit more time for music and adventures. How lovely. ✨

Perfectly sums up me playing the autoharp/zither.

This weekend!

I’m playing at Peak Festival which is going to be so wintery and snowy and lovely. I’m sure there will be plenty of lols as I navigate my way around the snow to my venues with my gear by myself but let’s get chilly and silly! 🫣✨

I’m looking forward to finding a warm fire to sit by when I’m not singing and drinking all the warm drinks. 🔥

✨MELBOURNE VISIT ✨Only a couple of weeks til I’m in Victoria again! I haven’t visited since Winter last year!

I’ll be at the Wesley Anne with my dear friend Tim Woodz playing some heartwarming songs on Thursday 13th June. I’ve even got some extra extra special guests coming to join me!

I’ll pop a link for tickets in the comments. As always, a friendly reminder that booking tickets early as possible shows artists and venues that live music is still wanted and needed in the world. Independent artists need your support more than ever to keep doing what we love doing. ✨✨✨

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE WARM
by Neil Gaiman

A baked potato of a winter’s night to wrap your hands around or burn your mouth.
A blanket knitted by your mother’s cunning fingers. Or your grandmother’s.
A smile, a touch, trust, as you walk in from the snow
or return to it, the tips of your ears pricked pink and frozen.

The tink tink tink of iron radiators waking in an old house.
To surface from dreams in a bed, burrowed beneath blankets and comforters,
the change of state from cold to warm is all that matters, and you think
just one more minute snuggled here before you face the chill. Just one.

Places we slept as children: they warm us in the memory.
We travel to an inside from the outside. To the orange flames of the fireplace
or the wood burning in the stove. Breath-ice on the inside of windows,
to be scratched off with a fingernail, melted with a whole hand.

Frost on the ground that stays in the shadows, waiting for us.
Wear a scarf. Wear a coat. Wear a sweater. Wear socks. Wear thick gloves.
An infant as she sleeps between us. A tumble of dogs,
a kindle of cats and kittens. Come inside. You’re safe now.

A kettle boiling at the stove. Your family or friends are there. They smile.
Cocoa or chocolate, tea or coffee, soup or toddy, what you know you need.
A heat exchange, they give it to you, you take the mug
and start to thaw. While outside, for some of us, the journey began

as we walked away from our grandparents’ houses
away from the places we knew as children: changes of state and state and state,
to stumble across a stony desert, or to brave the deep waters,
while food and friends, home, a bed, even a blanket become just memories.

Sometimes it only takes a stranger, in a dark place,
to hold out a badly-knitted scarf, to offer a kind word, to say
we have the right to be here, to make us warm in the coldest season.

You have the right to be here.

Little reminder that tickets are on sale for both of my shows supporting the wonderful Montgomery Church in Blackheath and Bathurst.

The shows are in less than 2 weeks!

Artists really appreciate you pre-booking your tickets in these weird times. Makes us feel like you like us!

Blackheath - Friday 10th May
Bathurst - Saturday 11th May

Then in June I’ll be heading to Melbourne to play some shows with my lovely pal Tim Woodz which is going to be the best. Haven’t been to Melbs since wintertime last year, the time is just flying by.

I have two shows in May with my beautiful friends Montgomery Church. If you haven’t heard them before, James & Cielle are just gorgeous. Gentle, heartfelt, warm and sweet country-folk songs with absolutely wonderful musicianship - I hope I can play like that when I grow up! I think they’re bringing the band along too.

And then there’s ME and I go alright too. I have a bunch of new songs to sing you and also some old favourites.

Tickets are on sale now for both shows!

Blackheath - Friday 10th May

Bathurst - Saturday 11th May

Join us for some Autumn magic! 🍁🍂✨

In between shows I’ll be at the Kindlehill Autumn fair in Wentworth Falls - selling felt things made by our parent craft group to raise money for our beautiful school. ✨

THIS IS WHAT WE’RE WORKING WITH HERE.

An ancient phone covered in stickers and full of thousands of photos of my children and possibly play dough or slime in the microphone and speakers. And, a thikkk old MacBook I bought off a friend for $400.

But I’ll be attempting another live this evening at 6pm on Facebook.. Maybe.

You get what you get and you don’t get upset. 🤭

Thanks to everyone who has sent me tips, you are all TREASURES! We’re off to the Nash!! ✨

24/03/2024

I’ll be singing some songs for you (and me!) tonight from about 6pm on Instagram live!
If you’d like to send me a tip - that’d be lovely! I’m saving up for petrol money to go to the National Folk Festival this weekend! So even a little bit is so appreciated and it all adds up.

Let’s get Sarah and Jude to the Nash!

There’s a link in my bio, any amount is great.

Requests (of my songs) welcome!

X

Happy birthday Roob! 19! Ten years of living life together. Love you so much, it’s been such a massive honour to spend all of my days with you. You’re flying from the nest next month, but you’ll always have my love with you. My wish for you is a year of joy, naps, fun, dancing, singing, creativity, magical moments and beautiful adventures.

2023. I lost so much. I found so much. I loved with my whole heart. I survived. May next year bring so much peace to all of us, everywhere.

Thank you to those who have been good to me and made life beautiful, even when it’s been hard.

And to those who haven’t, I leave you behind now, where you belong. Onward. x ✨

Heart shaped rocks, big trees, big mountains, little creatures, soft little hands to hold, songs that make you cry, sanding back the old and making something new. There is beauty here in this wild, magical and confusing place, keep holding on. ✨
