Dolly & Lily are safe and sound in their foster home...and snoring😴
Incoming fosters, 🖤Dolly & Lily🤎
We're thankful to Dr Shih and the team at CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets for their expertise and time with Lily yesterday!
When you've been waiting three weeks to get a foster dog in for a cardiac evaluation, waking up to be told that the clinic needs to reschedule your appointment is not how you want to start the day. To avoid having to wait two additional weeks to be seen at the same clinic, we were very lucky to grab a same-day appointment at a different CVCA branch, even though it meant we were in for the long haul. Close to 8 hours of driving and consultation and approximately 175 miles later, we accomplished our original goal for the day, to get Lily's heart murmur evaluated, which included an EKG. Unfortunately, the news we received was not what we were hoping for, and Lily has advanced degenerative valve disease with some additional risk factors.
This was our first time meeting Lily. She's a total sweetheart and she was a real trooper during the day's journey. Stay tuned in the coming weeks to learn more about Lily and her sister Dolly, who are 9-year old siblings coming into CCDR foster care.
Our special guest at Dogs & Brews 2024 is CCDR Alumi, Henri. Henri says, "Stop by and see me! at the Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue booth."
It's been 6 weeks since Beo was adopted, and we keep getting the cutest updates about this guy and how great he is doing in his new home.🥰 The latest update included Beo's DNA test results, and Maury Povich is here to say that "the dachshund is NOT the father!"
Two weeks ago, Bart hopped into his adopter's car and didn't look back. He is transitioning quite well with his new family. Welcome home!
Speaking of naps, foster dog Bart has been enjoying a few naps after getting neutered yesterday. Bart is one step closer to going to his furever home!
At CCDR’s Give Local York (GLY) command center, it’s been a quiet night and day following GLY 2024. Our members and pups are grateful for everyone who supported CCDR during this event. THANK YOU for caring about the work we do and the dachshunds we save!!!
