Congratulations to Officer Shayne Castro who was honored as Officer of the Year for 2023 at our annual Awards Dinner last night. Officer Castro has served our community for five years.

Congratulations to Officer Garrett Hawkins and Officer Matt Stevko for earning the MADD Enforcement Officer of the Year award.
The award is given by the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) to law enforcement officers who made the most DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) arrests each year.
According to TXDOT, “1,162 people were killed in drunk driving crashes in Texas in 2022.”  Even though one drunk driving related death is too much, the number of drunk driving deaths is significantly lower due to the dedication of the law enforcement officers who diligently enforce DWI like Officers Hawkins and Stevko.
