Oh Macarons… I usually make them because I have egg whites leftover from ice cream. But macarons are NOT a low maintenance way to use up leftovers 🤪 They aren’t my favorite dessert, but there’s something about a bite size piece of art. Now what to do with the leftover buttercream…
I haven’t posted much in the past 1 1/2 years (!) because I haven’t been pursuing “recipe testing”. But life is still happening and food is still a BIG part of it. So here are snapshots of moments, not ones I spent hours trying to publish, but ones that are shared with friends and family (sometimes letting someone else do the cooking 😉), and even tossed out (joy in the making, less enthused with the result 😆). 1. chocolate chip cookie cake 😍 2. al-fresco 3. 4. Prune plums (pre-roasted): beautiful, but I still prefer PLUMS 5. Chicken Tinola-Filipino chicken soup goodness….6. Wine tasting picnic…other dishes not pictured 7. When you try to make donuts, and good ol’ apple pie is the fall back. Not pictured-crumble topping. >plain cake 8. Beef Bourgignon for special dinner 9. Hammock time: recipe testing will wait 😉
I have chosen to pause my blog for now. The time and energy I once spent in the kitchen was redirected during the pandemic. If I have something to share, I’ll post here and on IG.
