IN CASE YOU MISSED IT....
Southwest Airlines allows you to carry on one bag and one personal item. The bag is to be stowed in the overhead compartment, with your small personal item going under your seat.
The airline has made a potentially major change to their carry-on bag policy. This could result in items that formerly counted as personal items being now counted as your carry-on.
According to Southwest, personal items include purses (including crossbody bags), briefcases, blankets, pillows (neck pillows do not count toward the carryon limit), cameras, food containers,* or laptops (case included).
*Food intended for consumption during a flight and contained in disposable packaging will not count against the carryon limit.
NOTE: If you're traveling with a pet, the pet carrier is counted as either your personal item or carryon.

New DOT rule requires airlines to refund passengers -

Under the recent U.S. Department of Transportation rule, U.S. and foreign air carriers must provide prompt automatic refunds and and ticket agents must provide prompt refunds upon request when airlines cancel or significantly change their flights and consumers do not accept the alternatives offered.
The ruling also requires U.S. and foreign air carriers to promptly refund checked bag fees for significantly delayed bags and ancillary service fees for ancillary services that consumers paid for but were not provided. Services like food and beverages, bag check-ins, better seats, early boarding benefits, and other a-la-carte features not included in the ticket price are examples of ancillaries.
For additional information regarding refunds, see https://www.transportation.gov/individuals/aviation-consumer-protection/refunds

A recent trip to Sin City for a small group of friends was chocked-full of fun, food and fantastic entertainment. The highlight of the visit was seeing Usher in-residency.
The Park MGM served as home base for the visit, with their large, tastefully-appointed and comfortable Nightingale Suites. Two major amenities at the Park include the Dolby Live, an indoor amphitheater (and venue for the afore-mentioned concert) and Eataly, an upscale Italian food hall with restaurants, quick-service counters and groceries.
While out exploring The Strip, they stopped at Breeze for one of their tasty, flavorful daiquiris. Hold onto your cup, 'cuz these walk-up bars are located throughout the area, and subsequent orders are discounted!
There are so so so many places to find a good meal in Vegas. One is Gallagher's Steakhouse located in New York-New York. It offers great food and drinks whether seated inside or at the outer bar. Follow that up the next day with brunch at Hash House a Go Go in The Linq. The menu includes made-to-order pancakes that are almost bigger than the plates they're served on!
To satisfy your sweet-tooth, enjoy treats from celebrity chocolates (Hershey's and M&Ms megastores) to a chocolate celebrity - that Usher reference may only apply to this writer!🤩) But hey, it's Vegas, baby!!

Hopefully the following info will help you navigate the constantly changing rules in the new travel environment. Check with your airline for exact rules for the following.

VALIDITY: During the pandemic, if your trip was interrupted a lot of airlines would leave vouchers open and let you pick when you want to travel next. There was a lot of flexibility that no longer exists.
Travelers must fly all segments of their itinerary or subsequent flights will be canceled.
We haven't had to use this word in a while, but it's good to know the definition. Validity means the period for which the ticket is valid. You MUST check the validity of your clients' tickets to make sure they are still valid before rebooking. Generally, you have one year from the date the ticket was ISSUED to use your credit/voucher.
Southwest Airlines just announced that their eCredits will never expire, so make sure you always check the airline.

YOU MUST FLY ALL SEGMENTS OF YOUR ITINERARY OR SUBSEQUENT FLIGHTS WILL BE CANCELED: It makes sense that if you miss your first flight you can always just fly the rest of them. WRONG. Most airlines will cancel the remaining flights if you miss any flight in the sequence.

REBOOK BEFORE YOU CANCEL: Many tickets must be reissued before the original flight date or the ticket holds no value.

NOT ALL AIRLINES WILL ALLOW YOU TO REBOOK ON PARTNER AIRLINES: During the pandemic, many airlines would allow tickets to be reissued on their partners. These days you should double-check with the airline because most do not allow you to reissue on partner airlines.

These airline vouchers will now last forever 29/07/2022

Southwest Airlines vouchers will now have NO EXPIRATION DATE!!

These airline vouchers will now last forever Southwest Airlines has removed the expiration date on its vouchers. The move applies to new vouchers as well as those previously issued which have not yet expired.

Do you have REAL ID? Beginning May 3, 2023, you will need a state-issued REAL ID compliant license or identification card, opens in a new window, or another acceptable form of ID (such as a passport), to fly within the United States. This applies to all travelers 18 years of age and older.
REAL ID-compliant cards are marked with a star at the top of the card. If you’re not sure, contact your state driver’s license agency on how to obtain a REAL ID compliant card.
Additional info available at https://www.dhs.gov/real-id

The CDC recently rescinded the Order requiring persons to show a negative COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before boarding a flight to the United States.

As of 12:01AM ET on June 12, 2022, CDC will no longer require air passengers traveling from a foreign country to the United States to show a negative COVID-19 viral test or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before they board their flight.

The COVID-19 pandemic has now shifted to a new phase, due to the widespread uptake of highly effective COVID-19 vaccines, the availability of effective therapeutics, and the accrual of high rates of vaccine- and infection-induced immunity at the population level in the United States. Each of these measures has contributed to lower risk of severe disease and death across the United States. As a result, this requirement which was needed at an earlier stage in the pandemic may be withdrawn. CDC continues to recommend that those travelers boarding a flight to the U.S. get tested for current infection with a viral test as close to the time of departure as possible (no more than 3 days) and not travel if they are sick.

CDC continues to evaluate the latest science and state of the pandemic and will reassess the need for a testing requirement if the situation changes. CDC will communicate any updates publicly if and/or when they change.

Hello all!! This is a 5-night cruise out of Galveston, TX with stops in Costa Maya and Cozumel. The starting prices on the flyer are for a few of the most popular options. They are per person, based on double occupancy. Final prices are determined by cabin type (balcony/oceanview/inside) and its location.

This cruise is not Veteran-only; it is open to all. The sponsors are all Veterans and the cruise is an extension of their service to those who serve. Participation does not require business ownership.

Only one cabin can be booked using the group rates and must be done so by Veterans. It will require proof of that status. Other (non-military) cabins are available and can be booked by non-veterans.

A $150pp deposit is due when you book. Final payment must be made by 24 Aug. Carnival Vacation insurance is $65 per person.

Contact me with your email address and I will forward all the necessary documents to get an exact quote and instructions for finalizing your booking.

Getting A Passport Is Going To Get More Expensive

The State Department announced that it is raising the cost to get a U.S. passport. The agency said that starting on December 27, the fee for a passport book will increase by $20.

That will bring the total cost of renewing your passport to $130, which marks an increase of 18.2%.

The cost to get a new passport for adults will rise to $165, while children under the age of 16 will have to pay $135. Applying for a new passport must be done in person, but renewals can be completed by mail.

"The increased fee is necessary to ensure we continue to produce one of the most secure travel and identity documents in the world," the State Department explained on Twitter.

Most people can renew their passport by mail, as long as it is undamaged, was issued within the last 15 years with a 10-year validity, and was issued in your current name.

The State Department is working to create a system that will allow people to renew their passports online in 2022. The Defense Department announced that starting on December 23, members of the military and other government personnel will have access to an online portal allowing them to renew their passports. It is unclear when the general public will be able to renew their passports online.

Tony C and friends weren't able to take this annual birthday trip last year. And this year's fun was delayed a day when excessive rain in NY, mandated an unexpected overnight delay elsewhere.
But, things came together in the end...
THE HOTEL: The Marriott Club Pulse is very comfortable and offers excellent views of the Empire State Building from the Top of the Strand roof-top bar.
THE ACTIVITIES: Visiting the 9/11 Memorial and Museum is a sobering must-do. And despite many visits to the city, this was the first trip to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island - add that to your "to-do" list. Seeing a play is always on the itinerary, and Chicken & Biscuits at the Circle in the Square Theater was thoroughly enjoyed.
THE EATS: PioPio for delicious Peruvian cuisine. At Junior's Restaurant and Bakery, you can find lots of variety to include huge BLT sandwiches and carrot cake cheesecake - yum!! Pizza slices from Patzeria are required eating. Breakfast from the Paris Baguette Boulangerie is a great way to start the day. STK Steakhouse in the Meatpacking District = $$$$. And who knew you could order cocktails at a Starbucks? Well, you can at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood. It's one of only six worldwide! So many treasures, so little time - well, there's always next year! Or, you can plan YOUR visit to “the City that Never Sleeps” now with call C2C Travel and Tours!!
