Hello. Today I have just a little friendly PSA. As with many other industries, the cake world is also dealing with the impact of AI generated “Art”. Most cake decorators are now getting inquiries for cakes and being sent these AI generated photos with requests to make this “cake”. If you are working with a talented cake decorator they can probably use that photo as inspiration and still create a beautiful cake for you. In most cases the cake will not have the same look and level of detail as the AI generated cakes. The materials we use to make edible art cannot give the same polished and “perfect” look you see in these photos. And the level of detail on them requires a TON of time and skill so we will have to charge accordingly. So please be aware when you are looking at inspiration photos for your next celebration cake. If the photo has a very “polished and perfect” look and has a very high level of detail it’s very possible it is AI generated. And yes a talented cake decorator may be able to create something similar for you, but don’t expect to get an exact replica. These cake are gorgeous but they are all AI generated.
