Spending 5 years working hands-on with women and q***r folks in pelvic and s*xual health, I heard a lot of my clients apologize for their bodies.
“I’m sorry, I haven’t waxed”
“I’m so sorry, I just worked out”
“I’m sorry, I haven’t shaved my legs”
“I’m sorry, I hope I don’t smell”
“I have an ingrown hair, it’s super gross, I apologize”
It’s not because their bodies were disgusting or unacceptable.
It’s because by the time we hit puberty, many of us have already received so many messages about what our bodies “should” look like.
What is “acceptable,” what is “attractive and desirable” (by society standards)
We begin comparing ourselves to what we see in TV, magazines, perfectly airbrushed, often thin bodies that are completely free from pimples and p***s and ingrown hairs
By adulthood, this comparison often becomes unconscious second nature, we measure where we fall short and criticize and apologize for our “unacceptable” parts without consciously realizing we’re doing it.
Do you ever find yourself apologizing for your body?
How do you think this is impacting how you show up for your relationship? And how you show up for intimacy?

a flight,
plan activities,

But once we’ve completed those steps, and used that masculine energy to create a plan with support, structure, and boundaries
then within that container that we've created...
we can relax,
we can play,
we can lean into our feminine energy,
we can connect to our creativity,
our sensuality,
and reawaken our s*xual self.
That’s when you seem to have “spontaneous” beautiful, amazing, fulfilling s*x.
We need to acknowledge the energy, the support, the systems, the boundaries that needed to be in place to allow that relaxation and connection.
Once you can acknowledge and harness that, you can have vacation s*x whenever you want.
Even if you only have one night a week or one night a month, this is so doable if you get intentional about it

one that helps me is showering or having a dance party when I’m done with the get-sh*t-done part of my day
3️⃣ a grounding technique using your 5 senses
notice what you feel, what you smell, what you hear. Talk to yourself about which sensations feel best
4️⃣ Get support and keep practicing

2️⃣It helps me get in the mood when _____, how about you?
3️⃣When we’re in bed I really love when you do _____, what’s something that I do that you really enjoy?
Notice how your body feels when you read these prompts and imagine having this conversation with your partner
Is there excitement? A knot in your stomach?

When waiting for the right time, might be the wrong move
Hey, high achievers who feel like there’s never enough time (or energy) for s*x, this one is for you
You’re a badass with a busy schedule - if it’s not on your calendar it’s not getting done.
You plan time for:
✨Exercise
✨Work projects
✨Meal prep
✨Time with friends and family
But it just feels awkward to schedule s*x
“Good s*x should happen spontaneously,” you think
But you find that s*x is rarely happening, it just never feels like the right time
Either you’re:
❌Full from dinner
❌Exhausted after a long day
❌Right in the middle of a great episode
❌Caught off guard when your partner initiates
So you try to schedule s*x but sometimes when the time comes:
🙈 You just aren’t in the mood
🙈 You feel pressured to perform
🙈 You’re stressed about getting your partner’s hopes up
I know you love your partner and you want to have a deeper connection this year both in and out of the bedroom
Here’s the thing, there's not one right answer, there’s no perfect time to have s*x
Yes, sometimes scheduling intimacy can take the fun out of it and put too much pressure on it
Here’s what I often recommend for my private clients to help with that:
Schedule time for connection, with no pressure on the outcome
Do something that feels fun together and helps you connect and stay present with the understanding that you’re both open to connecting emotionally and physically but have no attachment to any particular outcome
This could be:
✅ Listening to music and cooking dinner
✅ Makeout Monday
✅ TV Free Tuesday
✅ Playing board games
✅ Taking an evening walk
✅ Showering together
✅ Nerf gun fights
✅ Shoulder massages
✅ Go to bed early together
The goal is to have fun and connect, as long as you’ve done that you win
Sometimes you may have s*x and sometimes you won’t but creating that space for connection leaves the door open and pressure-free

Did you choose a word of the year?
I usually don't, but this year I spent January 1st cleaning, reflecting, and pulling cards.
and I pulled "The Ever Unfolding Rose" card from Rebecca Campbell's deck
The card talks about how life is happening FOR you, not TO you,
and regardless of what comes your way, your work is to continue unfolding and keeping your heart open.
For me, the world "unfold" reminds me that life is constantly in motion
Shifting, moving, evolving, changing
Change can be scary
It can be easy to desire control and reflexively close down when hairy and scary transitions come your way
But when I remember it is never the end, my life, my relationships, the world are constantly evolving and shifting
and when I chose to unfold and stay open and ride the waves of change and trust that I will be ok and life will continue to unfold
I am calmer, happier, more present
So for me, this year's word is "Unfold"
