I don’t know about you but working over the last few years with all its considerable challenges has proved to be more difficult than I could ever possibly have imagined. So I’m delighted that this really important documentary about the environmental impact of the fashion industry that I wrote original music for is being so well received at film festivals around the world.

Various Artists – A Crushing Glow Volume Two compiled by Matt Sewell – Caroline True Records 2022

I have a couple of very wonderful records on this label already, but I’m sad to say that Volume One in this series has eluded me. Ben Monk had a copy and used to bring it to the studio just to taunt me with it, I think. He did occasionally play the odd track from it as well…

Anyway, I wasn’t going to sleep on this volume being released, and I’m very glad I didn’t.

You can probably tell from the sleeve art alone that this is a total labour of love, and an utterly lovely thing it has turned out to be. As compilations go, this is really very special. I feel quite smug in being able to say I already owned 2 of the tracks assembled here, the Alessandro Alessandroni vocal delight from his classic Italian Library LP “Open Air Parade”, and Phil France’s beautiful slice of Mancunian Balearic-electronica “Transition” from his wonderful 2013 LP “The Swimmer”. But after that, although I have heard of some of the other acts compiled herein, everything else is a complete surprise, and really wonderful.

The track that has blown my mind the most is by The Wulu Bunun & David Darling – “Pis Lai (Song Of Prayer For Rifles)” which is the combined work of the Taiwanese Bunun Tribe and a Grammy Award winning cellist, and I can’t even begin to describe how magical it is. It moved me to tears.

The entire LP is an utter joy from start to finish, including 70’s British folk-rock, Punjabi love songs, Western soundtracks, and glistening electronica. And just look at how pretty it is! Just do yourself a favour and go and buy a copy before they disappear. They only pressed 500 copies.

Big News. It is hard to believe that 1 year ago we began filming on our first feature film, with the working title of Moment of Grace. Now after a lot of hard work and dedication we are coming close to the end of that process, the film is nearly complete. As we edited and got advice from various film professional and film lovers alike the story evolved and we realised that our working title did not really fit the film any more. So we needed a new title and here it is: Wait For Me

A big thank you to all our wonderful cast, .hollis and our crew for their patience.

So, here's a snap of the locked timeline from my first ever feature, ... drumroll please.

and I worked tirelessly to whip this film into shape, then it was lifted to a whole other level with 's exquisite score 🤤

I wake up each day horrified by Putin’s attack on Ukraine. What possible justification can there be for war other than to satisfy the ego of one man? I have friends through my music in Ukraine and Russia and my thoughts are with them all because they have been forced, against their humanitarian will, into this despotic carnage.
