April 24th 2021 start.

I have a small gist about last week Saturday evening. :)

This conversation was between my son and his Math teacher last week Saturday evening. His math & reading classes hold on zoom)
(I was in the same room) listening

Teacher: Hey buddy how has your day been?

My son: Great, I did my coding class earlier today

Teacher: ( I noticed some silence), then he asked, did you say coding?

My son: Yes, coding

Teacher: ( Wow), I’m also studying Computer science in school

My son: Okay ( He is a bit of an introvert)

Teacher: What coding language are you learning?

My son: I’m learning HTML and I’m building my 1st website

Teacher: Wow, that’s really good, ( he said wow, like 3 times….)
(I kept listening at the background, I peeped into the zoom
meeting and could see the expression on his face, I smiled)

Then the teacher kept marking my son's work, asking him to flip the pages so that he could see. But at this point I was sensing he was amazed and the next question proved me right.

Teacher: emmm…. (he calls his name), what grade are you in again?

My son: I’m in grade 3.

Teacher: Wow, nice and you are already learning HTML?

My son: yes.

Teacher: His tone changes in excitement from this time onwards…..his enthusiasm in teaching elevated. 😊

I just kept smiling in the background.

My people will say ....e choke! 🙂

Lesson: Start your kids early, be deliberate about what they are learning, software is the future, it's worth it for your kids to learn a skill that gives them an advantage, a skill that will always be relevant.

In my 15 years of working in the IT field, I've noticed that:
It's easy to find many locations where your child can learn to play a sport, soccer, basketball etc.
It's easy to find out where your child can learn to play a musical instrument. ( I just recently considered one for my boys as well and it was super easy)
