It is true that people make assumptions about you based on the way you look. For me, this is a gift. It is easy to maneuver around others when they underestimate you. By the time they realize they have erred it is too late! Join me as I chat with Justin Ferguson, real estate by day, wine by night...

Why I heart a great place to come to work everyday… and on this day it was a members appreciation breakfast included with GF options :) xo 💋
It was such a pleasure to spend some time with . A lovely soul. His new book "How to Survive & Thrive" is one you want to grab. Listen to Joe & I as we talk business and a little wine on the side on my new podcast At My Cellar Door - Cheers! https://spotifyanchor-web.app.link/e/qWllj0LY9Hb
It was such a pleasure to spend a bit of time with and interview Caroline Stanbury on my new podcast "At My Cellar door". I like her style, she always offers such great advice on her podcast! What do you think her secret to staying young is? https://spotifyanchor-web.app.link/e/YnoInQ2nYHb
Ever wonder why you can’t seem to smell the things a wine professional does? I always tell my clients - if all you smell is wine that’s fine! What is more important - do you like what you are tasting and can you describe why? This helps others choose a wine for you and to find different varieties similar to your preferences. Smell is a muscle that needs training. I struggle with the subtle, delicate scents, so every morning I train my muscle with these 75 wine scents. I pick a few randomly and see if I can identify it. Some days I win … some days I lose. Today was not a winner! Tar, honeysuckle, leather… all were tough for me today.
A year wiser celebrated with a lovely getaway seaside with the most amazing stay at the Kingfisher Oceanside Resort & Spa. Dinner under the stars in our own private dome, delicious food & of course a little M.Chapoutier sweet grenache red dessert wine from Banyuls France. Made by a family that can trace their history in Rhone to their first vineyard in 1879. Yum! It was the perfect way to end my week following a series of gruelling wine exams, sparkling followed by fortified on the same day for my designation. You gotta bring your A game … 2!theory exams, 2 blind tastings and there is never enough time as you watch the clock keep ticking by.
It is never easy being the book end for & Sergio. She is my kind of gal, open, fun and caring. It was such a pleasure to meet her and interview her. Stay tuned for the episode to drop on my new podcast ❤️
What rain days are meant for … wine tastings
Life is short. Break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that makes you smile.
If you haven't had the pleasure of meeting Ken Rideout you should put it on your bucket list. The guy is a true inspiration. Anything is possible, even over 50! Listening to his story about competing in the Gobi March tells me everything I need to know about what kind of person he is. Gobi March is a 7-day, 250 km / 155 mile footrace that takes place in Central Mongolia. It is not for the faint of heart. He has had his ups and downs in life and shows that it doesn't matter where you start only where you finish.
All dressed up for dinner. This is a lovely spot in . Upper west side close to .
Day two of dipWSET class. Sparkling & Fortified is the theme … I appreciate learning about the complexity and effort that goes into port … wow is all I can say
Life is about the small moments in between, the spaces between the noise, time for reflection. At a little wine bar in I had a lovely quiet moment being fully present in the moment. Most days I am always thinking about the small steps that will lead to big impact. Every now and then the noisy lady in the attic of my mind sits down to enjoy the view.
The what a wonderful experience. Jasmine took such great care of us. Delicious food and to celebrate a 2000 super Tuscan to psi with my duck confit.
a lovely, crisp fall day in NYC .
This is always a highlight of my week, blind tasting, 6 wines. This week Portugal 🇵🇹. Puts your skills to test. Great training for dipWSET.
A lovely little tasting from my favourite little country…. Portugal! My people, my place, my wine. Touriga Nacional is certainly in my top 5 of most loved red varieties. It’s a dry wine, flavours of dark berry fruits, violets and full bodied. She’s my kind of gal :)
Wine is an expression of place, culture and history, it has a smell. I love French wine because there is something in its smell and taste that is like a meal at the holidays where you can feel the love and laughter in the room. Wine for me is a palace of memories unlocking the history of my life one sip at a time.
… when you get back from your first exam and you have flowers, wine & dinner waiting you feel pretty 😇
is a must see. Stunningly beautiful. The wine makers are artists who deeply care about their craft. A top notch experience that will not soon be forgotten!
Hard to believe what one week brings. One week ago I was on my way back from Kelowna visiting vineyards for DipWSET, then the world went on fire. I hope everyone is safe and any losses are minimal. Hoping for rain…Thinking of you all xo 😘
Not everyone has seen grapes before they are ready to become wine. These beautiful little guys may look like green peas but they will grow up to be wine and some day soon you might get to take them home. It’s kinda like babies… with a beautiful wine baby at the end. I brought many new children home this weekend.
Such an amazing weekend preparations. It was the tour of extremes big bold sun shining down and cool cool air-co to stave off the heat. I am a true cork dork and I loved all the learning
