Why use handmade soap?
Many big brand, mass produced soaps aren’t really soaps. I know, crazy right. So then what are they?
They are detergents. 😳

They are filled with synthetic ingredients, dyes, lathering agents, or foam boosters. 😯 Which strips your skin of it’s natural oils, can cause irritation or peeling skin. Many of them contains estrogen mimickers which seeps into your bloodstream and your body mistakes it for estrogen causing a list of other problems. Let’s just say we can revisit this topic about estrogen in another post.

Clean and exfoliate!

Summer Skin Care Tips
Great skin care starts with cleansing. It’s import to make sure your face and body are clean. We should also exfoliate our skin. Exfoliating helps with the removal of dead dry skin. Stay in the shade and stay hydrated. Most importantly, west SPF and don’t forget to reapply every two hours.

Welcome to July!
We are halfway through the year and we are officially in the Summer season. So here are a few tips to help you stay on top of your summer skin care routine. This is one of a few more to come.
1. I can’t stress it enough about wearing SPF! UV rays will have long term damaging effects on your skin especially if you are someone who spends a lot of time in the sun.
2. Be sure to apply SPF at least 30 minutes before sun exposure. It is recommended that you then reapply every two hours.
3. Some people don’t like moisturizing their skin in the summer because it makes them hot or sticky. But please don’t skip the step. It is best to moisturize right after getting out of the shower. This is when your pores are open and your skin is still damp. Apply moisturizer then allows the products to settle into your skin and keep you moisturize for a longer time.
4. Take cool showers. Hot showers will dry your skin out more. Cool showers increases blood flow to your skin. Plus it’s hot outside anyways. So turn the temp down a bit in the shower.

🎗️Unfortunately, it take years to be diagnosed with endometriosis. Often times, women are diagnosed with something other that endometriosis. Such as fibroids, ovarian cysts, pelvic adhesions, fibromyalgia, and a few more.
🎗I was pre-diagnosed with endo but was officially diagnosed with a laparoscopic surgery.

🎗Endo fatigue is real and I didn’t know what I was experiencing until a couple years ago. I struggle waking up every morning and I need to set like 10 alarms just to wake up. My body just feels low and sluggish. Even when I get enough rest this is still a struggle for me.
🎗I would also get tired during the day. I don’t want to be viewed as “lazy” so I’m one of those persons who will try to pack my schedule or constantly do something so that I don’t come off lazy. But that’s not helpful and causes me to be even more drained.

🎗Endometriosis presents itself in many different forms. These are some of the most common symptoms. I have experienced all + more including chest pains and shortness of breath. I was told by my previous doctor that these were normal and was prescribed pain killers. 😒 This was prior to me knowing that I had endometriosis.

🎗 My most important advice is to advocate for yourself, speak up about what’s going on with YOUR body. If it doesn’t feel right sis, then it’s not right. Find a doctor that will listen to you and work to find a solution for you.
