Grove-McDonough Talks Top 20 Finish for Cyclones at NCAA Meet

Iowa State head coach Andrea Grove McDonough talks about her Big 12 Conference and NCAA Midwest Regional champion team that placed 20th Saturday at the NCAA Championships in Louisville, Ky. Anne Frisbie paced the Iowa State effort with a 45th-place finish. Three freshmen were in the Iowa State lineup and only one member of the Cyclones' top seven graduates this season.

VETERAN CYCLONES EASE NEWCOMER TRANSITIONS

The role of Iowa State's veteran runners in easing the transition of Cyclone freshmen on the ISU women's cross country team has paid off big time. The chemistry of this team is one key reason the Cyclones won their sixth Big 12 team title in seven years. The Cyclones play host to the NCAA Midwest Regional Friday at 10:45 a.m. on the ISU Cross Country Course.

CYCLONE FRESHMEN "ALL IN" on GROVE-MCDONOUGH

Iowa State's Big 12 Championship team included three standout freshmen who made major contributions in Iowa State's team title performance. The first-year Cyclones and their teammates will compete in the NCAA Midwest Regional in at the ISU Cross Country Course in Ames. The women's race will start at 10:45 a.m. and the men's competition will begin at 11:45 a.m.
