JUNE ROSE: AN AMERICAN CHRONICLE is a historical and family-centered dramatic TV series based on true events and set in late 1960s San Francisco and the Cherokee Nation, Oklahoma.
I'm picking up the June Rose project again, with its themes of societal conflict, identity, and personal and generational change. Hoping to work with my fiscal sponsor and Women in Film Bay Area to start a fundraiser for a sizzle reel and a table read, and to find a great local director for this period drama inspired by my mother's life.
Logline: In San Francisco 1969, a housewife and mother discovers her Cherokee heritage and defies her husband—and her Cherokee father—to immerse herself in her newfound culture.

JUNE ROSE: An American Chronicle is on my mind (since Facebook asked). My beautiful beleaguered mama, the inspiration for "June," loved roses and cultivated them all her adult life. One of my earliest memories is sticking my little nose into one of her sun-drenched pink roses, a bee buzzing alongside -- oops! I inherited her love of roses but have had no luck in the cultivating dept. Luckily, the Rose Garden in GG Park is a mere five minutes away! Btw, Gertrude Stein, a rose is NOT just a rose...
