White Rose Bus Group
Vehicle preservation and storage
With the room created yesterday the new arrival arrived with us today in the form of this very unique Volvo B6BLE Plaxton Concept 2000 bodied with only ever two being built
History
HC04BBB was one of 2 Volvo B6BLEs new to Plaxton in 1999 as development vehicles with the idea of launching the new body designated 'concept 2000' for the new millennium.
Events overtook Plaxton with the company being bought by Transbus, and the 2 vehicles were dumped at the back of the factory unfinished.
Henry Coopers purchased both and finished them off and registered them in 2004.
The sister was registered NK54PHV and was sold on and eventually ended up at Go North East and was scrapped in 2015.
HC04BBB was retained and it spent its entire working career with Henry Coopers working mainly schools and as a spare vehicle.
It has been purchased for preservation in November 2023.
That time of year again folks, can't believe another year has passed already.
We've achieved a lot this year as a group and I'd like to thank all of those that took part, from members to volunteers and especially those that made our event such a success, lets hope the next one is even better!
Merry Christmas to all.
Plenty going on today at the shed. Several vehicles were moved around to create space for the new arrival tomorrow. Extra storage space and a much improved tea/rest room was also worked on.
Hopefully after tomorrow, that will be it for vehicle movements until spring time.
Happy sunny Sunday morning. Numerous happenings at WRBG Hq today. Have a great day.
On behalf of The White Rose Bus Group, we would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Such sad news for the owners. ๐ข
We helped with the Bristol VR engine rebuild and the B10M was previously owned by a member of the group.

We've been approached by the owner of Leyland Olympian 5147 C147 KBT to see if there's any interest from any preservation groups or individuals to buy her. They have been offered money from a bus dealer but she'll end up going abroad and they don't want that to happen, however, if there's no interest she'll be sold to the dealer and they'll be a risk of her been exported.
Currently MOT'd and driveable. They're wanting offers around the ยฃ5000 mark but have said they'll budge on the price.

We took Atlantean 6294 out for a quick run this morning. Actually we used it as an excuse to get a pint of milk from the local shop ๐ Plenty of tea and coffee required on a very cold Sunday.
Work also continued on Barnsley & District Leyland National 205 Restoration, between many cups of tea. Work there is progressing nicely.
First York Volvo B6 YJ51RKU is being stripped down gradually for ongoing maintenance. Slow but necessary work.
Surprise visitor to the shed today.

It was rather eventful at the shed today. Volvo B10M P10 CAE had a temporary repair to its fuel pipe, which caused us problems last week. It will be addressed when the new parts arrive. This enabled us to move it round to the works shed and get it on the lifts for an inspection in the hope that it will be ready for the 2024 season. Volvo Olympian 629 had a run out to Selby before the heavens opened. We wrapped things up earlier than usual as the darker evenings draw in.
Making the most of this beautiful sunshine ๐ we decided to have a shuffle around in the shed. Volvo coach P10 CAE was taken from its corner where it has been languishing for some time. Having said that, she fired up first time and the air built up steadily. It was only when she emerged into the light of day that we discovered a fuel leak. She will be on the lifts next week, so we can assess this issue then.
Bristol RE 1403 was moved along with West Riding Volvo Strider 412 and Reliance Volvo Y163 HRN. Edinburgh Dart M883 XSC also saw some ๐. A majority of the vehicles are now mothballed for the arrival of the cold and wet weather.

Just arrived back at the shed after a great day with the Aire Valley Transport Group, in Skipton. As usual, all the visiting vehicles were a credit to their owners.
We have attached a number of photos from the day for those who were unable to attend. White Rose Bus Group is looking forward to attending the running day again next year.
Up and about early doors as we head over to the Aire Valley Transport Group running day at Skipton. Come along and see vintage vehicles, and take a ride out on some of them throughout the day.

Another Sunday attending to various jobs that have been in the queue for a while.
All the off side windows were removed from National 205 in order for works to progress. This vehicle will take its place on the lifts after the completion of radiator works on Wright bodied Volvo 60853.
At the other end of the shed, work was carried out on EYMS 629. The heater matrix was removed due to leaking, and will be either refurbished or replaced. This vehicle should be heading up to the Aire Valley Transport Group running day next Sunday at Skipton.
Wright bodied Volvo B6 YJ51 RKU also had its air leak inspected, and the necessary parts will be ordered this coming week.
If you're heading to this event on the 8th October, we'll see you there ๐
