Hey fur family! Apparently AT&T is having a nationwide service outage (which i use). Im not sure when service will be back on, so I want to make sure everyone knows that I may not be able to send report cards today (currently using WiFi). Rest assured, I will definitely be there to see everyone's kiddos like usual. Hopefully they get it up soon! โค๏ธ
Hello fur family! I am in need of your help. One of my favorite puppers is in need of a new home. Her mama says it best, so please take the time to read the whole blurb if you are interested. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me. ๐พโค๏ธ
"Nala is a gorgeous 75lb white husky/black shepherd mix. She was born on September 17th, 2015. I have had Nala since she was a 2 month old puppy, the youngest of my three dogs. I never thought I'd be having to write anything like this, but life leads you down paths you never thought you'd have to walk down.
For the eight years I had her before having young children, she was such a good girl, a goofy yet steadfast companion. She is the cuddliest of my dogs - she lives and breathes for cuddles. We always joked that she didn't know how to, "dog," even while having two older canine brothers. She never really learned to play ball or to play with other dogs. She has always been an anxious girl, but has always done well in my care because my house has always been peaceful and calm.
A year ago, my fiancee and I had twin boys. They are now gearing up to start walking and long story short, they are boisterous and Nala's worst nightmare. The change in our home atmosphere has been catastrophic for Nala. We have tried everything in our power to make it work, to make sure she gets the care she deserves, but I am realizing a home with small children truly makes her miserable. She has so much more life to live and love to give, but although it breaks my heart, I realize it will be many years until we have a peaceful environment in our home again and she will simply not live to see the day. My attachment to her should not keep her from living the life she deserves, and receiving all of the love, attention, and peace she deserves also.
Nala is shy and apprehensive at first, but is quick to warm. She thrives in a calm and stable environment and makes a fantastic companion. She is very submissive and does great with other dogs. She would actually do really with dog sibling(s) above her on the totem pole. She feels safest and calmest when someone else is taking the lead. Having to take the lead stresses her out. She gets nippy when she's stressed. When people she doesn't know come into the house, I either put her in the back yard/separate room until the excitement dies down, or I simply tell the people walking in to ignore the dogs. (It's like magic - the dogs understand the humans are visiting their humans and immediately calm down. That alone has curbed the majority of the nipping.)
She is very food motivated and will do anything for a treat. She is so very eager to please. She was housebroken by 3 months old. This sweet girl will hold it for as long as possible to avoid going in the house. She knows the basic commands - sit, lay down, come here, wait, stop, drop it, do you want to go outside, are you hungry, are you thirsty, do you want to go for a ride, etc. She knows how to sit and wait when her meal is being placed in front of her, waiting until the "ok" to start eating - But she does not like anyone around her food. Also, she has never chewed on anything I didn't specifically give her for chewing (a bone, toy, etc.) She loves the heck out of some bones!
She does great at the groomers - I have been taking her every 3 months for a bath + deshed for years. They always say she is a very good girl receiving the services and getting along with the other dogs that are all loose together while they get groomed. As for the dog park, she has always been too anxious to enjoy it, but maybe she will enjoy it in her next chapter.
She is one heck of a watch dog - she will vehemently protect her home and her family. She has never tried to escape - on the contrary, she holds down the fort and protects the house from intruders.
I have taken her to only two vets in town, so her lifetime's worth of medical records are accessible. She is and always has been a strong and healthy girl. She is low maintenance in terms of energy - I would not consider her high energy and may not have an overwhelming amount of patience for another high energy dog... But she is high maintenance when it comes to love and receiving pets. She could hog all the pets for herself, if she could. If there is a hand available, she will do her best to put her head into it.
I love her dearly and can only hope she finds the perfect home for her to live out the rest of her days in peace, with a loving family that she can love back. It breaks my heart to part with her, as she has been an important part of my life for many years, but I hope there is a family out there with an open heart and room in their life to take in a sweet, established girl."
๐จ Hey fur family! Make sure your kiddos are nicely exercised today and tomorrow! Benderson park will be setting off fireworks tonight and Marina Jack will be tomorrow.
If your babies are still scared and you need ideas, put them in the closet and have music on. The clothes will help muffle the booms and the music will hopefully cover up the sound. If you don't have a thunder shirt, try to find one locally and look into calming treats (can be found at most pet stores).
Stay safe and love on your babies for us! ๐พ๐

๐พโค๏ธ Hey fur family! It's officially spring break! This upcoming week/weekend are quite busy with all of our furry friends. Please note that with our schedule being packed and traffic pattern changes we will need some extra grace when it comes to our usual arrival window. If you are needing a walk this week, please contact us ASAP to get your babies on the calendar. We only have a few windows left and want to make sure everyone is covered.
โ๏ธAlso, remember things are heating up, so our walkers will be making less distance to ensure their safety and the safety of your fur kids. Happy spring break and stay hydrated!
