Xmas Fairy living....my living room and hallway.... and Costco shopping. Countless trips to shop, gather, eventually organize to collate for 100 homeless and 16 children living in poverty. Could use about $800 more to complete purchases, please donate at superkidpower.org. VERY grateful to those who donated through GoFundMe and privately. YOU make this possible for me to go a bit crazy living in cramped quarters, smiling about what is possible when people care with compassion. You know being a little bit crazy does keep me sane! Thank you! Loving gratitude and good wishes to all.
The homeless sleeper is someone I am familiar with who comes to the meals we serve in the park. Compassion poured out of my heart as I approached to deliver a meal and recognized who it was in 48 deg. temp. I had delivered meals to the homeless camp in the drizzly rain and had a couple extra meals so I drove downtown knowing I'd find someone who was hungry. I said, "Hope your day goes well." And the response was, "It will now." Warm egg and vegie burrito, pastry and fruit with juice was the offering this morning. Grateful to ALL who donate so hungry people can have nutritional meals.
Learning from Laryngitis this weekend. EXposed to cigarette smoke I am allergic to, my body reacted trying to protect me. While there is discomfort with laryngitis, it has brought me an improved awareness of how grateful I am for my voice. I miss it, love it, appreciate it and am working to recover it. Doing many things because I am a google goddess searching remedies. Busy keeping good attitude and healing. It's funny how awareness improves with something like this. Grateful! Have a super weekend. I am focusing on keeping heart in the process.
Mom's southern recipe for chicken 'n dumplings for the homeless meal today since it was her birthday, gone for too many years now. Felt like she was in the kitchen with me. Seemed like a good dedication to her. Side dishes, too, and warming supplies, blankets, hand warmers, some shirts and more, plus snack bags. Weather is changing and I think of the gentleman at the homeless camp who had a job, had a stroke, and after the hospital stay they released him having emptied his bank account. There he was, no money and on the street. Tried getting into OHRA (Oreg. Housing for Residents of Ashland) and is on the waiting list. However, because he does not do heavy drugs/alcohol they told him he is not eligible due to the fact that those who are in greater need are served first. He is concerned about the upcoming cold weather and living outside. This is just one story. There are countless stories of those who live without homes who are not having basic needs met. My heart feels deeply for them. Compassion. Thanks to those who donate to my non profit, Superkidpower.org, to keep the Compassion-in-Action.

Caring Village: Needed today: tent for homeless woman sleeping on ground and a size large warm winter coat for man. I will deliver to them tonight or tomorrow morning. Six people were sleeping on the ground this morning when I served breakfast burritos. Wet dew. 45 deg. Private message me. I do NOT have room to store things due to Xmas Fairy project. HUGE Thanks to private donors who upped the amount outside of GoFundMe for Xmas Fairy activities. Still needed $1,000 more. GoFundMe or superkidpower.org has donate button. Grateful to those who care and act on their caring. And prayers for those in the path of Hurricane Milton.
40deg., homeless camp this morning. I was serving hot frittata and trimmings, watching his hands shake from being cold. He held the paper plate on his hands where the hot frittata sat...I thought it would feel good going down the hatch but several people just held the meal to warm their hands. It is humbling to witness another reality up close like this. Compassion fills my heart. Grateful to Roni for the fresh eggs and to those who donate to allow this goodwill to continue. Funds are needed. .orghasdonatebutton

"Better come get this fruit before the rats come and get it." A homeless female camper called out to the other campers as she took a banana and some grapes someone left in a box for them at the edge of the camp. Humans need food so rats appear at the camp regularly.
As I distributed the breakfast I made I smiled to greet the tent dwellers. Smiles are nutritious in my mind. I was wished a good day several times and thanked from grateful hands receiving my offering. It keeps me humble and grateful. Thanks to all who donate - could not do this without you! .orghasadonatebutton
When teaching children self regulation basics, so important to have FUN! Calm, Deep, even belly button breathing makes big bubbles. Tense, shallow, irregular breathing makes a lot of little bubbles. Children see it and feel it as they create their own inner calm. Demonstration of how a fairy feels when upset with tense wings and after deep breathing calming herself, she can spread her wings freely reaches the children for reinforcement in the way they relate. Meeting them where they are!!! Superkid Power skills work for all ages as experienced in my workshops/sessions/classrooms. .orghasresources

Pulling together to help unhoused recover from the camp trauma last week. Clothes were needed after last week's trauma at the homeless camp when they were awakened at 5 am being drenched by a sprinkler system that someone turned on for AN HOUR while they awoke and tried to move in very chilly weather. Thanks to Irene Theurer for the clothes. Homeless camp breakfast and last Friday's Peace Meal in the park were supported by several caring community members. Coco's fresh beans from the garden, Dr. Roni's fresh chicken eggs, and others who donate for supplies. It does take a village....and a caring one at that. Grateful to feel compassion...fuel for the heart!
Inner Steering Wheel Empowers SuperKids with Self Regulation Resiliency from 3D Learning
The Inner Steering Wheel in the picture is a core teaching for Empowering SuperKids to learn how to switch gears from tense to calm. They learn they have inner control to calm themselves and make good choices regardless of external circumstances. The outer steering wheel with X’s is tension. Taking slow deep belly button breaths allows the steering wheel to turn to calm happy faces. The outer wheel helps children in 3D learning to see/feel what is going on inside them with their own internal resources they can self regulate. It works. They love it! We march, sing and drum practicing the switching of gears. Imagine doing that when you were a child and the difference it would make in your life journey!
As a pioneer in teaching children as young as 3 years old how to develop emotional intelligence and self regulation for resiliency for 42 years, I have witnessed untold numbers of children change their behavioral patterns and gain strength to be confident in the face of life challenges. A girl whose house burned down reported she knew she needed to help herself before walking in to see all her things were gone by taking deep breaths first. A 4 yr. old boy saw his teacher was getting frustrated and mad so he started singing the Calming Song I taught the class. The entire class joined in and the teacher realized they were helping her remember to be calm. A second grade boy was knocked off a bridge by his fighting parents and was hanging onto a limb of a tree. He said he thought of me and the song we sang, marched and drummed to the week before.....BREATHE, THINK AND MAKE A GOOD CHOICE. He did just that and saved his own life. These are empowered children who are grabbing the reins of their own internal resources. We need children who can make good choices regardless of external circumstances and lead healthy lives.
My expertise is an approach I developed back in the 1970’s using 3D learning. It helps children to excel in the grasp of the concepts by using objects in the environment that relay a tangible, tactile, EXPERIENCE to understand the world inside them. They learn to know themselves not from a rule someone else told them to memorize, but because they FEEL the lesson, hear, taste, smell it and know for themselves.
In the agrarian culture children were needed, felt purpose and knew they belonged in a family system, making a difference in it with their presence. Chores were expected and even if children complained, they did the chores and could feel their part being important. With the self help and self regulation skills being learned today, they can assist in strengthening the unit of the family, classroom or peer group. We need them to help us build a stronger, healthier, happier world. The time is NOW. Creating videos where I teach the children and downloads are available for home and classroom reinforcement as well as student handouts means the adults can watch and learn the lesson but do not have to teach it. They only have to reinforce it, creating a great way for building skills and a healthier atmosphere at home or in class.
