January restart 01/01/2020

Sorry, for being quiet lately, but I fell off the keto health wagon. Too much stress led me to make bad choices but that stops now. I have learned a few things from falling. 1 is my body wants to help me. Luckily I only gained back 10 pounds. I can stumble and as long as I don't keep stumbling my body will help me get on track. Starting over again 04/10/2019

So with all that is going on with stress and healing, I fell off the keto wagon. One of the ways I know LC/Keto is right for me is I don't feel good when eating higher carbs. From tummy troubles to an assortment of other issues I don't have when I eat a proper human diet. The funny thing is comfort foods are no longer as comforting as before I learned how to eat better. Update: Car accident 24/09/2019

One of the best things I did to get on the right path for healing was to go to an athletic therapist. Chelsea, of Advantage Conditioning, is amazing. She is very knowledgeable and thorough with her treatment. I feel that I will make a complete recovery and then I will be able to get better than ever! My meals have been higher in carbs but I mean to return to an LCHF Keto diet. [ 202 more words ]

Loose skin and autophagy. 11/09/2019

Previous attempts to lose weight had me questioning if I looked better fat. I remember looking in the mirror and seeing my stomach hanging down my thighs. I was miserable trying to walk 5 km a day and it just wasn't sustainable. I never could break past the forty-pound weight loss. Fast forward to now I lost 47 pounds from May 29 to Aug 15. Car accident 07/09/2019

Yesterday, I was in a car accident. A bus rear-ended a pick up that hit us. My brother in law was driving but I got some wicked whiplash. The pain is bad but I am going to be proactive and try to heal in record time. To aid this I am going to eat as close to keto as I can and fast close to 16 hours a day. I will keep you updated with my progress. I won't let this be a bigger setback than it needs to be. Thanks for reading. Susan

Fighting depression 06/09/2019

So recently I had a set back in my health. I hurt my back and it would spasm and flip out with nearly every movement. Now this wasn't a terrible set back for weight loss as I was still eating low carb and intermittent fasting. What I was struggling with is the depression pain brings. I hated to miss work as I enjoy what I do and want my employer to think I am a valued part of the team. [ 569 more words ]

Keto restaurant review – Pizzagong chicken wings. 22/08/2019

I decided to add reviews of keto-friendly foods. My work has a lovely pizza store beside it. If you are not keto try their sweet and sour Chicken. This used to be my favourite. Now that I am eating keto/low carb diet I rarely indulge in that old favourite. Luckily I found a new one. Simple chicken wings. These were amazing. [ 76 more words ]

Sorry, I haven't posted much. I hurt my back and I was focused on recovery. It was stressful missing work both emotionally and financially. Luckily I only missed a week. Vitamins and Calcium 14/08/2019

Vitamins and Calcium One of the more common questions is whether I recommend any supplements. I recommend very few of them. For longer fasts, I recommend a general multivitamin, although there is scant evidence that it is beneficial. In fact, almost all vitamin supplements have been proven to be useless. In some cases,....

Healthy way to lose weight. 07/08/2019

Healthy way to lose weight. What is a healthy way to lose weight? Some people don't believe Intermittent Fasting and the low carb/keto diet is healthy. Why is it so hard to accept change? A low-fat diet has led us to an obesity and diabetic epidemic. It's scary how committed some are to the standard American diet (Canada too) there is a reason it's called the sad diet. Blueberry whip and Mocka mousse 06/08/2019

I have to share a delicious treat I made. 500ml whipping cream 1 cup Frozen Blueberries I whipped up the cream then added blueberries and that's it. I didn't add sugar or stevia but you could if you want. Yesterday I made a mocha moussee. 1 ltr whipped cream 1 chocolate Epicure pudding 2 cups of coffee(cold) Start by whipping cream them add pudding and gradually add coffee making sure it stays thick. Let set in fridge for 20 minutes. I had dished it first in bowls so it set nicely. The family enjoyed it.

Struggling though 06/08/2019

Everyone struggles. It's universal. As we learn and grow we struggle to get better and hopefully over come to the challenges that try to stop us or slow us down. The important thing is to be aware of these challenges and not just react to them but to understand the way we react to it. For example, I was not feeling great due to my period and slipped off keto and had a treat. [ 128 more words ]

Hope 29/07/2019

Today, I was reflected on my past experiences with weight loss. Previously losing the weight seemed hopeless. Like dismantling a mountain only to find your efforts built another mountain behind you. So rather than having to deal with one mountain you had two. The old way of counting calories and exercising to exhaustion made me miserable and I always failed at it. [ 136 more words ]
