Informacijos centras “Kartų Europa” (Generations of Europe) is a non-gover
nmental organization based in Lithuania. Organization was established in 2000, even before Lithuania joined the European Union. In the period of 2000-04, Generations of Europe has a history of being a strong supporter of Lithuania’s integration into the Union, organization has worked with European Committee under the current government at that time, being one of the one of the most noticeable and active partners of the Committee. In 2004, organization started to work with European Association of Institutions of Non-formal Education of Children and Youth, spreading the idea of non-formal education, its methodology and working with youngsters and youth workers, especially in the local / rural areas. In 2013, organization has changed its name to Informacijos centras “Kartų Europa” (i.e. Generations of Europe) while pursuing a new vision and looking for motivated and talented people to bring a new energy into the organization. Generations of Europe has been part of non-formal education sector for more than 10 years. Since 2004, organization has acted as a platform for youngsters and youth workers to increase their knowledge, skills and competences. Generations of Europe has been part of many Erasmus Youth in Action, Lifelong Learning and other international / national and local initiatives. For instance, Generations of Europe has implemented and participated in various LLP Comenius projects focused on promotion of Active Citizenship in the formal education system, or for example, organization has actively participated in various mobility projects building a network of partners all over the EU and also in the MENA region. Some of the projects are: 2004-06 LLP Comenius “Peer2Peer4You” - working on promotion of Active Citizenship, Erasmus YiA “Young Women Today” - working on gender equality, “Faith in Europe” - encouraging Interfaith and Intercultural dialogue, 2012-14 LLP Comenius “YES - Youngsters’ European Society” - encouraging social cohesion, promoting European Values and Active Citizenship.
