The founder and designer Kate Palmer takes inspiration from nature, visual illusions and kaleidoscopic prints. Since graduating from a printed textiles degree, Kate has worked as a freelance textile designer creating prints for major fashion houses including Donna Karan, Kenneth Cole, Calvin Klein, Armani Exchange and Ralph Lauren. Sparrows Green Studio is her way of drawing and creating something
she loves and bringing it directly from maker to market. Our scarves are all designed using Kate's pencil drawings. Whether she hand screen prints them or digitally prints them, every scarf has been carefully designed and finished so that the wearer feels fabulous. Our large square silk scarves can be tied in a variety of ways to suit your look. Whether you want to wear yours as a bag, a halter top or tie it traditionally as a scarf, it's entirely up to you. The transition from light to dark or night to day is a key feature of our scarf prints. This is why you'll see dip dying and tonal variation from bright white to inky black throughout our collections. We print on a variety of carefully sourced and tested fabrics, focusing on quality and drape. Sparrows Green is a tiny place in an East Sussex village. Kate spent many of her formative years there and her fond memories gave us the name of the company. Sparrows Green Studio is now based in South London but many of our thoughts and ideas still echo our countryside roots. With this in mind, it is important to us that we print and finish our scarves in the UK
