She’s Home. 🕊️🤍
My mother, my teacher, my sister-in-Christ, even my friend. She’s with Jesus. And though the sadness is deep, we feel utterly held right now by supernatural peace and hope, as well as the prayers of God’s people.
I’ve taken the time to read your comments from my post about our last days and hours with her. Thank you so very much for your kindness and prayers!
To quote my brother Eric, we have been “holding the tension of grief and gratitude”, and though painful, it has been beautifully rich and full. Most of the afternoon yesterday was spent around the table remembering what a loving, faithful, Christ-centered, woman of God she truly was! And even though she lived a very quiet life, her legacy will live on and on!
I will never forget the day that she called me to tell me that she had ovarian cancer. She followed this heartbreaking news by quoting Psalm 118:24, “This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
She believed that God deserves our worship and praise, no matter the day, and she truly lived it. I can honestly tell you that I never once heard her complain about the cancer. (Sometimes I just wished she would, for once!) But instead, she lived every day of her life to bless others and to bring glory and honor to the Lord!
One of the most precious treasures of my life will be watching my Dad love her until the very end. Every nurse that walked into the room, he would say to them, “How does it feel to be in the same room with the sweetest, most amazing woman who ever lived?”
What great hope we have and share in Jesus! Welcome Home, Mama. We’ll see you soon and very soon!
Okay, so this one made me weepy! Today we’ll be in Psalm 118 which is a part of the Hallel—a collection of six Psalms (113-118) that have been sung and recited on joyous occasions and festivals all throughout Israel’s history. We’ll remember together that Jesus would have sung these very Psalms as a little boy, as well as his disciples, and Psalm 118 was sung by Jesus and his disciples together just before they made their way to the Mount of Olives. It’s this beautiful picture of the power of worship when it’s rooted and grounded in timeless Scripture, but then experienced in the very presence of Jesus!
May we be a part of the true worshipers who will worship in Spirit and in Truth, singing about God, TO God! Letting a new song arise in us, from our hearts to His. I’ll talk to you soon!

Today we’re in beautiful Psalm 19 where we’ll remember together that God set revelation in the heavens that is pouring out promise over us day and night, night and day!
This kind of framework, His order, His heart, His way, postures us to look into His rules, even His boundaries for us. To heed their warning—yes—but to also know the great reward in keeping His way! Certainly one of the greatest rewards is His very presence and even confession and repentance can afford us a closeness with Him that we might not find any other way! I’ll talk to you soon! In celebration of my husband Nathan’s brand new album “Everywhere the River Goes” (available anywhere you listen to music!) we’re going to talk about this River and the beauty of staying within the River’s reach all the days of our lives! In fact, we’ll use the song titles to give us a grid for what this River’s work looks like in us and through us.
There’s mention of this River in Psalm 46, today’s Psalm, as well as in Ezekiel 47. We’ll look at aspects of both of these beautiful passages that remind us of the teeming life that only God can give us and how important it is to stay near Him to flourish! I’ll talk to you soon!
I’m SO THRILLED that the SUMMER IN THE PSALMS series is back! I have needed this in my own life!! The lazy days of summer can be wonderful, but I find that it’s easy to drift from my rhythm of staying grounded in truth if I’m not careful. I hope this series meets you right on time in the same way!
Today we’ll look at Psalm 73 together. It’s about as honest as it gets, I love it! We can glean so much from it as we witness the Psalmist sing of his struggle but most importantly, we get to see where he goes to find answers.
The Psalmist is looking around him and things just don’t make sense. He has been careful to keep his life pure, but his only reward seems to be pain and turmoil. Yet, he looks around and sees people who don’t care a thing about God or His ways and they seem to have it all together!
He assures us that he was tempted to say out loud what was REALLY in his head and his heart concerning his bitterness but—thankfully for you and me—he chooses a different path, a better resolve. One that you and I can see for ourselves today as we navigate a perplexing hour! I’ll talk to you soon!
This is the song that started it all when it comes to this new album. I woke up singing it in the night and the next morning I knew God had given me a song to sing to Him personally in that season, one that would truly bring me home to His heart in the most profound way!

Today you are going to get to hear some REALLY fun behind-the-scenes-stories from my new album “This is the Hour,” particularly from the adventure that was the photo shoot for this album! Even the little trick behind getting my hair to look “ablaze” in the wind for the cover of the song Valor! I had so much fun remembering the details of such a wonderful day, can’t wait to tell you all about it!
We’ll also dive into the beautiful and sacred truth of Christ’s life IN us! His life in us makes us a new creation and it also intrinsically ties us to the work that He is still doing on the earth and for eternity! Some may try to explain away
The sacrifice You made
But Jesus I remember
Your precious life, poured out on the cross
Perfect, Lamb of God
Jesus, I remember
That Your blood it speaks a better word
Than anything I've heard
And Jesus I remember
That it sounds like the sweetest, freedom song
And I still sing along
Cause Jesus I remember
I remember
Today I’m so excited to get to come around the song “Valor”, one of my favorite songs from my new album, “This is the Hour,” available everywhere you listen to music.
This song rose up in me in a season where I began to realize that the hardships, the pain, and what felt like relentless trials were not for nothing. In fact, they would afford me something that nothing in this world could offer me. My bravest step in that season would be surrendering, yielding once again to a sovereign God. Moving toward Him, my true relief in this life!

VALOR // This beautiful word… I’ve come to embrace it like a friend. It’s a personal bravery that is directly tied to, even flows out of our very identity as the Beloved of God.
But much like soul rest, it isn’t accomplished by our determination or will — it’s in surrender that Christ’s strength is imparted to us and through us! Join me as I continue the stories behind the songs that simply act as a lens for us to look at some deep, life-changing truth that is for our flourishing in this hour! I’ll talk to you soon!

Today we’re going to keep leaning into the posture and perspective that God’s presence has always been His ultimate plan for His people, that we might flourish and even cause the world around us to flourish too! Shifting our gaze towards Him each day is vital for our growth and it remains one of the easiest things possible for the human race!
Today I’ll also share some insights around the Overture—a song that is very dear to me—that opens my new album “This is the Hour”, available everywhere you listen to music! I hope you’ll join me. I’ll talk to you soon!

I wouldn't know Your peace in my darkest night
I wouldn't hope from a heart made new
I'd still be longing for the answer to the ache inside
Jesus I'd still be searching for you!

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
- Psalm 34:8
I know that there’s pain and loss happening all over the world today but there’s nothing quite like when it hits at home. My heart is so heavy as I lift these families who have lost their precious loved ones in the school shooting today, and those who witnessed it.
Jesus, Name above all names—we know that You are near to the broken-hearted. Would you be a tangible, comforting Balm to these families who have lost precious people today? We ask that You reveal Yourself so clearly and plainly as the Good Shepherd to these children and administration who endured this horrific tragedy today. Move in mercy and healing power, Jesus. Come and cover every person touched by this, come do what only You can do in this hour. We ask this in Your Name Jesus, Amen.
“Evermore” Live Video premieres today!

The more I look back on my journey, I’m convinced of this one thing: His presence has always been His plan for me. On the mountains high and in the valleys low, His “with-ness” with us, is what He values most for us!
All throughout scripture we watch this play out: More than the outcomes and answers and breakthroughs—-He offers Himself—and He is ENOUGH for all we could ask or imagine, and He is WITH US evermore!

Choosing to live in this settling truth in these unsettling days, that “there’s a God in the heavens reigning over all, rejoicing as He says, “As for Me, I’ve set my King on Zion!”

All throughout Scripture we see the infinite majesty and mercy of God, and Jesus is the invitation to it all!

“This is the Hour” is FINALLY OUT and available for all to hear, anywhere you listen to music!
This album represents about two years of songwriting and “living” these songs before I could share them. But, it also represents what feels like a lifetime of learning how to communicate with a living God who sees us, knows us and loves us. Much of that communication, since I was even just a little girl, has been through the language of song!
My prayer is that these songs help give you that language! That you find yourself being able to articulate things to God that have been tucked in your heart for Him for many years! I pray that they cause a new tenderness to form in you towards Him and that you’ll find yourself coming home to His heart over and over again in these days!
Further up and farther in!

I met when I was 19 years old and I knew within a matter of weeks (days!) that I was going to marry him. I remember telling my parents, “He can PLAY the songs that are in my head/heart!”
It’s been one of my greatest joys to grow with Nathan all these years and to watch him flourish into the man he is today. I’ve encouraged him for a very long time to explore composing his own instrumental music. I was so excited to get to feature him on “This is the Hour” as he wrote several orchestral movements that moved me to tears and were the perfect connecting points for the story that I wanted to tell with this record!
With all that said, I’m SO happy to point you to Nathan’s VERY FIRST SINGLE called “SEVEN” - out NOW! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
And…there’s EVEN MORE TO COME from both in the modern classical genre as well as instrumental worship…and let’s just go ahead and believe for more lullaby overtures to come! 🥹

My heart is so full of gratitude and celebration as I present to you, “This is the Hour,” available everywhere you listen to music!
There’s SO much I could say in this moment…and I do look so forward to sharing the stories behind this body of songs! {In fact, be watching for the podcast to re-launch later this spring for that very reason!} But for now, this seems most fitting:
Jesus…You are already lN the highest place, but in OUR hearts, our lives, our songs—in this hour—be exalted above everything! Be our portion, our treasure, our measure!
