Yesterday I got to paint this amazing feature wall, built by Kopp Construction. It is such a focal point in the entry of the split level home. Made of clear pine, it was sealed, sanded and painted out in black in a satin finish by .

TGIF!!! Ending the week with a glow up for this harvest table. It had a heavy golden coloured top, and the bottom kind of fell flat against the beautiful floor in the home. We chose to go with the same colour as they have in their kitchen, which was a custom colour from Benjamin Moore. The top was sanded down, and I did a wash to mute the wood. It was sealed with a wipe on poly after the wash had set. A cute porcelain k**b was added and and games drawer was lined with a muted floral print. Swipe for before pics

My 12 year old is moving downstairs to his own room, and has very particular ideas of what he wants it to look like. There was a small space near the end of his bed, which he hoped to have a desk. Since he is not a fan of antiques ( who’s child is he anyways?!), and I’m not a fan of buying him a new one, we ended on a compromise of old meets new. I had a turn of the century 3 drawer dresser laying around for a few years, and decided it would make the perfect desk top. He has other mid century elements in his room, so we went with a modern matte black leg, and stained the oak top to match his walnut side table. The top of this this desk had deep staining- which I’m assuming is from lamp oil, but it just adds to the uniqueness of the piece. We paired it with a Bertoria chair to help keep to his modern mindset! I can happily say, he really loves it. Swipe for reference pic of the dresser.

Next up is this king sized bed. It was a very traditional piece, with a cherry wood stain. It was in excellent condition, but still the entire piece needed to be sanded down and have two coats of BIN shellac to ensure there wasn’t any bleed through. I sprayed it with by . 3 coats was required for this frame. I always recommend when spraying furniture, especially with slats, to build your paint up slowly to avoid runs. I use a Graco sprayer with a 308 tip- which is perfect for furniture jobs. Swipe for before pics.

This outdoor garden furniture was majorly worn due to weather, and was in need of a big face lift. These chairs were pressure washed, sanded, sealed and sprayed in by . Multiple sands and coats were done between each coat to give it a really smooth feel. I love the colour and how they pop against the landscape. Thanks to my lovely repeat clients! This dresser is for my favourite client… my Mama 🤍She has always had to wait way too long to have her furniture refinished by me, but my hope is that she finds it worth it in the end. This dresser was my Mom’s aunts, circa 1920. It was in great condition, but had heavy stain and varnish on top. The entire piece was sanded down, and painted in a custom blend of and . Matte black cup pulls were added to give it a classic look. This little piece is finally headed back to the spare room.

The difference paint can make! We were asked to carry on painting the trim white throughout this house. Pine trim means there are always lots of steps. Firstly, we sanded it all. Second, we binned it as to not see any knots bleeding through. We then moved on to priming and painting in . The slab doors were taken out, and new ones purchased. The doors were delivered to my shop where I airless sprayed them in chantilly lace as well. My go to paint for this type of work is in Benjamin Moore’s Command paint. Its fast drying, so makes reapplication easy, and it’s extremely durable. I love how bright this narrow space is now. Stay tuned for an office refresh next week! Swipe for before pics

There is a first time for everything! As some of you may know, my husband is in the tractor world. He asked if I would paint the roof of this one before it headed off to its new home. This was totally different than my usual work day, but I really enjoyed it. The roof had peeling paint paint, so it was sanded, primed and airless sprayed it in New Holland blue to match the rest of the machine. Not only did I enjoy the project, but it was fun to work for my husband!

This sweet washstand belonged to the mother of my client. It had lots of character, built using a few different types of wood, and even had some carvings of names. It required a big sand, stain and new hardware. Because all woods take stains differently, we went with a poly shade stain in walnut to try and even out the colours of the wood. The hardware came from and the brand we used was **bs. The inside was given a coat of h**p oil and we lined the drawer for some interest. Swipe for before pics

This old book case was dark, dated, and in need of a good sand. The den where it came from, just had a makeover, and the client chose to go with the same colour as the walls in order to give it more of a built-in feel. The colour is by . Its light, creamy and leans well to warm tones. The entire piece was sanded, BIN’ed and sprayed with my airless sprayer. A now perfect space to display all the clients favourites! The beauty of repurposing is that anything is possible. These older kitchen cabinets were taken out, moved & reimagined into a new entryway. The client wanted to keep a cohesive look and match up the new kitchen colour to the new “mudroom”. All cabinets were sanded, primed and painted in by . New matte black k**bs were purchased, and once everything was completed, they installed a marble counter for a functional and sleek look. Swipe for before pics of the cabinetry.

Ended the week by completing these 5 exterior doors! It was a challenge to match up the exact door colour, as we didn’t have a colour name, but thanks to , we got it! All doors need a refresh and there were a few rust spots and chips around the windows where the white primer was coming though. Doors were sanded, sealed and painted with a custom colour by in command. A perfect time of year to get these projects out of the way!

This kitchen was ready for a big makeover. With orange, oak cupboards the clients wanted to make a fresh and fun space for their family. All the cupboards were in great shape, but some of the hinges had broken. We replaced hinges and all the hardware with a matte black pull. The cabinets were sealed with BIN, primed and sprayed with by . The island was painted in . This is another great example of saving those solid cupboards and giving them a new lease on life! This large farmhouse kitchen was my project for the month of February. It’s the largest one I’ve had to date, and there was a considerable amount of prep work that was required on all the doors and boxes. Everything was sanded down, and most of the doors were scraped by hand, as there was a lot of gummy paint and bubbled paint. The original colour was very nice and the plan was to simply repaint the same colour, but once the primer was on, it lightened the space so much, that the client chose to go with by . All the hinges needs to be replaced, so we went with a smaller model that gave it a sleeker look. New piano hinges were added to the corner cabinets and liner under the kitchen sink. Overall, this space looks a lot more modern, and the overall finish will be much more durable for the couple. We had such a great time working for these clients, that the month went by so fast! This gorgeous, barley twist table, is not only functional, but had sentimental meaning to the clients as they brought it with them from England. The legs and the edges around the middle veneer had been scratched, and the entire piece needed to be sanded and refinished. A walnut stain was used on the top, and the veneer was given an oil treatment. The base was painted the same colour as the kitchen cabinets by . This is a perfect table for two, and the fold out table leaves helps when company arrives. Swipe for before pic # shopgirl

As many of you know, we did a renovation in my home this past fall & winter. Our lower level needed major work, and the bathroom a full gut job. It had to be durable, functional & fun for my two boys, as it would be their bathroom. I picked up a vanity that was hugely marked down, but the colour wasn’t right. I took all the doors, hardware , shelves out etc, taped off the stone top, and sanded down the piece. It was BIN shellaced & then primed with . I chose to go with by and found simple, sleek handles from . Once the taps were installed, it was ready to tuck in the new bathroom. Swipe for before pics 💙💙

Let’s start off the week with this beautiful sidebaord before & after. My sweet friend was remodeling her home, and wanted to to make this piece into something functional and way less dark & heavy. It had deep scratches, split front doors, and the upper mirror part that really served no purpose. The top section was taken off, and the entire piece was scraped by hand as it had old, thick lacquer on it. After the old finish was taken off, the entire piece was sanded and the top was washed with a warm beige to keep it muted. The doors were taken apart, and I added caning to give it a little glow up. The caning was also dry brushed with a warm beige mix, so it matched the top of the piece. It was sprayed out in and new hardware & hinges were added to give it a modern look. The inside was also painted in white, and cute owl wallpaper was placed in the drawers for a clean look. This is another perfect example of keeping your old furniture and breathing new life into it! A big thanks to my beautiful friend for trusting me with all her furniture decor needs. farmhouse

This next piece was pulled out of an old barn and was covered in a bunch of dust, debris and other yucky stuff, but the client saw potential. The hope was to revive it to a match the mirror, but as we all know, sometimes things don’t go as planned. The mirror that came with it was solid oak, but the base had only been stained to look like oak. Once sanded, it was a nice light maple underneath, but it wasn’t the right look for the space. The client chose by . It’s bold, but also allows for some interesting light play in certain spaces. The entire piece was sanded, holes were filled, castors were removed, and the sticky doors were filed down and given a h**p oil treatment. New brass pulls were sourced to match the antique key holes and drawers with a pop of colour! It’s always a pleasure to paint with a fun colour and this one didn’t disappoint! Swipe for before pics

Sometimes the best laid plans just don’t quite work out. This antique sideboard was originally in rough shape, until last year when I refinished it, and painted it out in hot pink. I loved the colour, but truthfully, I think I loved staging it more. Fast forward to yesterday when I decided it was time to start over. I repainted it in by . It is a moody colour, and by taking the mirror off, it gives it a modern feel. The existing brass hardware was left as it nicely pops against it the new colour. The interior was painted and the wallpaper perfectly blends with the new paint job. For interest, some of the original pink as been left on the drawer slides. This one is available for $350 ( mirror will be included) Swipe for before pics

Starting the New Year with an old, turn of the century piece. This oak buffet sideboard is not only a statement piece, but also a storage workhorse. Like with all things, over time it started to get lots of wear and tear, and has been sitting in a garage not being used. The legs had many deep cat scratches, handles were broken, doors were split and worn out, and small details were missing. Once the repairs were made by Dan (my fav carpenter), we installed everything to get ready for stain. The client wanted to stick with the warmth of the piece, so we matched up stain in English Chestnut. All the hardware was repaired, polished and rubbed with a bright gold wax. The entire piece was sealed with a wipe on poly for durability. The inside was rubbed with h**p oil to condition the wood, but also give it a rich tone. Whether you’re a natural wood furniture lover, or you prefer painted furniture, this is a beautiful example of preserving items that mean something and allowing them to shine within your home.

Ending the year with this lovely art deco bar cart that was made in Mexico. Once stained and broken, it has been brought back to life with a sharp new paint job. The base was repaired, sanded and painted in command by . The wheels were scuffed up and painted in a soft gold to add a little contrast. Perfect for entertaining or simply housing some beautiful decor. Swipe for before pics. Thank you to all of my clients over the past year. Your business is appreciated. I’m now booking into January 2024 if you’re looking for something to be reclaimed. Happy Holidays! 🤍

I’m starting to feel festive, and what better way to start off the month, then with this beauty ready for the holiday season. This oak china cabinet is incredibly well built, but was very dark. The client wanted to update it to go in their gorgeous lakeside house. The doors were removed and minor repairs were done to allow the upper cabinet to be open and visible. I painted the entire unit in by . The hardware was sourced from Amazon, and the drawer liners were added. I think this is a wonderful way to reimagine any wooden hutches or cabinets in one’s home. This kitchen update was so much fun to work on. We took it from an orangey-oak to bright white, and what a difference it has made for this open concept home. The shaker style panels really pop with the new colour and matte black hardware. The entire kitchen was sanded, sealed and painted in . The pantry and drawers were elevated by using longer, modern hardware. The client will be changing out counters and I will post back once the full space is complete! Swipe for before pics ♻️🌱

Starting Saturday with a pop of colour. An ode to my Cosmos that are still thriving in my garden. This bench had been previously painted, but the seat had been peeling. My client wanted to keep it in the same colour family, so we chose by for the overall colour. Because this piece had not been prepped properly before, it all needed to be sanded down, resealed and primed. I used my airless sprayer to do the finish painting, and now it’s ready to head back home. Swipe for before pic

Lots has been getting done in the shop before the next kitchen makeover starts. We ended the week with completing this parlour table. It had a lot of wear and tear on the top, but it was a sentimental piece and definitely worth refinishing. The entire piece was sanded down and stained blocked. It was primed with Stix and then sprayed with a custom colour by that really shows the details on the sides. Another great example of how paint can transform things we already have. A mini makeover with a big impact! I had so much fun with this laundry room refresh. From the original espresso finish on the cabinets to a simple by , I think we can all agree that this laundry room just got a glow up! All the cabinet doors were taken to my shop for paint, while the boxes were done onsite. We left the original hardware as it suited the space perfectly.
