Langton Consulting, a Florida-based grant writing firm with over 41 years of experience, is seeking a Freelance Grant Writer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to work as a part-time outside consultant. The ideal candidate will have experience in grant writing for local government agencies and demonstrate a track record of securing grant funding on behalf of clients. The position has the potential to grow into a full-time role. The consultant can work virtually from any location.
Langton Consulting has a team of six full-time grant professionals and numerous associate consultants who provide grant research, grant writing, and grant administration services to Florida counties and municipal local governments. The firm has secured over $493 million in grant funding for clients during its 41 years of service, with over $193 million secured in the last five years alone. The team has also successfully administered over $325 million in Federal and State grant funding.
As a Freelance Grant Writer for Langton Consulting, you will work closely with our team of professionals and clients to identify and pursue grant funding opportunities. You will support all phases of the grant development life cycle from concept design, full proposal development, review and revision support, and grant application finalization and submission.
Candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• 5 years of professional grant writing experience
• Demonstrated experience researching and securing grants in various subject areas
• Strong foundational knowledge of grantmaking entities, especially state and federal grant programs
• History of securing funding on behalf of local governments is a plus
• Experience working with local, state, and federal agencies is preferred

Diane H. Leonard, GPC, RST is a Grant Professional Certified (GPC) and Approved Trainer of the Grant Professionals Association. Diane is also a Registered Scrum Trainer, Scrum Master, and Scrum Product Owner by Scrum inc.
Diane began her career as a Program Officer, a full-time staff member of a state-wide grantmaking organization and she continues to serve as a reviewer for a variety of grantmaking organizations. Since 2006, when she formed DH Leonard Consulting, Diane and her team have secured more than $93 million dollars in competitive grant awards for their clients. She is an active member of the Grant Professionals Association.
