We are looking for a software-engineer-in-test (SEIT) role for client in Greenwich. They are building a fairly simple financial transaction management system in .NET, and would like a developer to own the design and buildout of the SpecFlow testing framework with which they intend to test and stabilize the system. SpecFlow is a testing framework in C # / .NET, similar to Cucumber in ruby. Both frameworks consume test definitions written in gherkin syntax, and provide hooks into the software under test to set up the specified preconditions, run the specified actions, and check whether the actions delivered the specified results. There is also a need for SQL facility to understand some of the important results.

The candidate therefore must know C # / .NET, and SQL. They must have a testing mindset, if not a testing background. They must be able to architect an object –oriented test framework in partnership with the development team, accept and solicit feedback while being self-motivated.
