Here's a little sneak peak of what's been keeping me busy for the last month or so. We are restoring this 110year old Queenslander, transported from Brisbane up to Bundaberg. Restumped and new roof is on. We've opened out the front sunroom to make a deck to take in the ocean breezes, and uncovered some original posts with cool decorative edging, so we've replicated that on four new posts to frame the grand set of front stairs which are next on the list. Then we'll move onto repairing the rotten chamferboards on the western side. Plenty of work ahead!
We saved these 120+ year old hoop pine floor boards from a house set for demolition. They were a bit wide so we trimmed them down and routed a new groove so they fit real nice. These will go into the queenslander we're working on to replace the bits eaten by borers.
I was lucky to be able to transplant these 120 year old hoop pine floor boards into a new project where they will come up an absolute treat, but they needed denailing and some tidying up first. Good job to do with the misso as the sun goes down on a Sunday arvo.
