4th Annual ANDERSON FRIENDS & FAMILY REUNION/JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION - Saturday, June 15th - APA Elementary - 2200 W. 2nnd Street, Anderson, IN

From 1973 to 1987, I hosted a fastpitch softball tournament at Westvale elementary for the community to come together and fellowship. The teams from St. Louis, Chicago Heights, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Anderson loved the atmosphere of the music, wonderful smells of foods, and the cheers of the large crowd. It was our Black Expo before the Black Expo.

Although fastpitch softball has faded, our community can still come together to enjoy a good time. Bring your chairs and umbrellas or tents and make yourself feel at home. And help make sure no one act the fool during this festive time.

Help spread the word and be in that number. Let's recreate the wonderful times we experienced from '73 to '87 and keep it going. Invite your family and friends from afar to be a part of this rejuvenation or awakening. And let's celebrate our heritage of Juneteenth.

A great reunion event is being organized by several Jacksonville area JHS Alumni for the JHS Classes of the 1980s and 1990s at the Morgan County Fair in advance of the Brantley Gilbert Concert. Special thanks to Gary Hadden for the idea and the venue!!
