Doing some promoting of the The Baseball Box Prophecy series in Houston and places nearby, including taking in an Astros game at Minute Maid Park. I'm hoping the students at Mel Parmley Elementary will enjoy reading the series, once they're back in school in September. At the Astros game, I had a chance to meet with Marcel Braithwaite, the COO of the team's organization. He's an amazing, gifted leader there with the Astros. He was kind to visit with us. He now has book one of the series. But my Angels got beat by the Astros again. Oh, and I threw in a photo of dark, foreboding clouds from a recent game at Smith Ball Park once back in Salt Lake City. The clouds reminded me of a few scenes from The Baseball Box Prophecy books. So, fun nights watching the Angels in Houston, and then cheering on their AAA Bees in Salt Lake. Best wishes to you all! Keep reading! Never stop imagining!
I recently visited Ireland as part of a British Isles tour with Latter Day Travel. I work with them as a tour host and educator. While there, I made it a point to visit Dungarvan, Ireland, near Cork, Ireland. For those of you who have read The Baseball Box Prophecy series, you'll know that the imaginary lead characters come from this ancient town, as far back as 1000 AD. As I visited the beach, saw the river, passed by the small castle, I found, to my surprise, that I was accurate in my depiction of this place, despite the passage of a thousand years! Hurray for me, eh! Although this a small place, it was on my bucket list!
While visiting the Louisville Slugger Museum and the Baseball Hall of Fame, I tried to find as many photos/displays as I could featuring Hank Greenberg, the Tigers' slugger from the 1930s and 1940s. In The Baseball Box Prophecy series, Cletis Dungarvan and his family live in a fictitious town in southern Michigan called Greenberg Junction, which I named after Hank Greenberg. Just sharing a bit of background info. The purpose of dropping names throughout the stories was to try to teach young readers a bit of valuable baseball history--history that leads to an appreciation of America's Game.
My son and I took a fun trip to the Louisville Slugger Museum in Kentucky. Look what I found! Cletis Dungarvan's wood bat!! Nah, just joking . . . But I did create one for him. For those of you who don't know the stories in the series, Cletis Dungarvan is the protagonist . . . or, in other words, the star of the show. What a great time seeing how the bats are made and which stars throughout baseball history have used Louisville Sluggers!
Enjoying the All-Star Game in Denver and finding fun, creative ways to share The Baseball Box Prophecy series with all baseball lovers and readers. Thanks, Porter, for helping me in this shot. Go AL! Yep, I'm an Angel fan!
I'm really happy to announce that The Baseball Box Prophecy series (all three books) were just awarded the Mom's Choice Awards! I couldn't be happier, since two of the underlying themes in the series are appreciation of mothers and family, and inviting children discover their hidden potential.

A talented friend, Geoff Hack, helped me create this ad. We recently ran the piece, via FB, in the Houston area, Orange Co, CA, and in Phoenix, AZ. It has been fun to see the interest. Enjoy!
