Having read The Aerialists by Katie Munnik, based on the true story of 14 year old Louisa Maud Evans who pretended to be older than she was in order to ascend by balloon from the Cardiff Exhibition in 1896 and tragically drowned when she came down in the Bristol Channel, it was interesting to see her grave in Cardiff and pay tribute to her brave spirit 🎈

It was great to see lots of our girls flying and crewing at Midlands Air Festival this weekend, including Trudy Laws in her new home-built BM balloon. A perfect Sunday morning with a little mist, lots of colour and lots of steerage 👍😊

The Hempleman-Adams family have been busy. This time Alicia Hempleman-Adams, took off on a solo flight in an attempt to break world records in the BX-03 hot-air airship class for altitude, distance and duration. She launched from the town of Bethlehem
in the American state of Connecticut, reaching an altitude of 4,100ft (1250m), and travelling a distance of 20.5 km in just one hour and seven minutes.

Once verified, Ms Hempleman-Adams will hold six World Air Sports Federation world records and 15 British records.

We received some nice news from France today... Congratulations to Sophie Lallement from near Chambley who has done all her training in English and checked out last week to get her licence 👏 Photos are from her training and her solo flight. We'll see you in those big French fields next year hopefully!

Fellow female pilot, Sacha Dench needs help getting back on her feet and in the air after a terrible accident. She uses her paramotor to raise awareness of conservation and climate change and is desperate to get her mobility back to get back to expedition fitness to continue her work through

21 years yesterday since check out flight with Chris Dunkley and solo to get PPL! Weather and work meant I couldn't celebrate in the air but here's to the next few years and supporting more girls to take to the skies 🎈🎈

Debbie and John are down safely, reaching an incredible 1091.89km distance from Albuquerque. Well done to them and the team 👏

EDIT: Quick check in the night and they've moved up to 2nd place with a current distance of over 540km! Exciting stuff
