Wrath is cruel and anger is like a flood, but who can withstand jealousy?

That's saying that jealousy is more powerful than wrath and anger. (Remember that game- rock, paper, sissors??)
Jealousy is a spirit or a ghost. Do not let this beast take you and your friends or family hostage or captive.

The way to withstand this spirit of jealousy is to be happy for whom ever is the person that jealousy is trying to provoke you with. In a nutshell, love that person. Jealousy will flee the scene, and you and your friends and family will have joy. This is what Jesus refers to (or at least part of) the abundant life that he brings into our life when we choose love over jealousy.
