Established in 2011 in partnership between Maglieri, Barletta and Backhouse - Wine Distributor is Sa La Brusco shows a vibrant, ripe vinous-fruit nose.
The La Brusco Wine Company was established in 2011 as a partnership between
the Maglieri and Barletta and Backhouse families. The new company’s mission statement was to create a broadly popular, light bodied, mellow Australian red style wine that would become the domestic market leader in that style category. The Maglieri family is a long established and respected grower and maker of premium red a
nd white wines in McLaren Vale whilst the Barletta brothers have come to this point with a successful South Australian wine retail and wine production history. Through separate wine business involvement they discovered that they had a long held and mutual interest in creating a quality Australian light-mellow-red. The Maglieri family had significant success during the 1990’s with a similar style and like the Barletta’s felt that the category was in need of
re-invigoration. The palate is soft and ripe with a balance between fruit and refreshing acidity. Combining these characters with
deliberately lower alcohol and an attractive light zest has helped create a style that is both food friendly and satisfyingly enjoyable on its own. La Brusco is always best enjoyed slightly chilled and better with good company.
