Juvenile Justice Advocates International

Juvenile Justice Advocates is dedicated to reducing excessive juvenile detention and promoting alternative community-based solutions to delinquency.

Juvenile Justice Advocates International (http://jjadvocates.org) works in Mexico focusing on creating sustainable solutions to excessive juvenile detention. We work in collaboration with a number of Mexican non-governmental organizations that are experts in criminal justice reform, juvenile reintegration, and community-based treatment. Our work includes research, consulting, and capacity-building

Closing Chihuahau Site...

Since my first trip to the Chihuahua detention centers in 2016, JJAI has been fighting for the youth of this northern Mexican state. We built partnerships with the state court, detention centers and probation offices and built trust with incarcerated youth and their families. Nearly all of our initiatives were piloted in Chihuahua state. Most recently, a revolutionary reentry model that has been integrated into the state public security agency. Our philosophy has always been to create sustainable models of reform that are embedded in the local governmental agencies and nonprofits and nowhere has this been more true than in Chihuahua....

From the U.S. to the U.K., Honduras and Australia, and many others - as long as children are incarcerated, we must work to protect them.
