So this happened tonight. Don’t worry, we triumphed. In a freak accident, the hubs’ wedding ring slipped off while he was drying his hands and it flew into the floor vent. I managed to reach my phone down into the vent space and snap this pic. Then, using a back scratcher of all things, he managed to scrape it back up and out of the air vent. Very pleased all around with the result, but yeesh that could have been a sad time. Whew!

It’s late and I’m not tired because I got trapped in a really great cuddle-nap today, so imma post about this really great book I recently read! I actually love all the books in this series, but this one featured Ada Lovelace and Mary Shelley, both of whom are literary heroes of mine. Plus, yanno, awesome fantasy (and even a lil steampunky) goodness.

This week, I did 12 hours of editing on the next book, released Death Cults and Taxes on audio, delivered rewards for my Patreon subs, sent my newsletter, made a new recipe, and tomorrow a friend is coming over to eat sushi and refresh my hair color. Y’all, the Herbalist’s Shield tea from Apothecary Teas, LLC is saving my life right now. And by my life I mean my throat. I don’t know what kind of green witch magic is happening inside this brew, but it’s amazing. I’ve been drinking it like crazy lately as I’ve been recording the audio version of Death Cult and Taxes. Any time my throat starts to get scratchy or tired I take a swig of this delicious hot potion— and maybe I gargle it a little bit too— and it fixes me up so good. And speaking of the audiobook, things are going extraordinarily well. I might even finish with it by the end of the month. If not, then by very early April. And then it’ll be off to my amazing audio engineers to do their own brand of magic.

Was back in my makeshift recording booth today. Why? Because I ✨ finally ✨ finished the first draft for the heisty Broken Gears book!!! RELEASE THE CONFETTI CANNONS 🎉🎉🎉 Now, while that marinates, I can focus on the Death Cults and Taxes audiobook. I learned today that my voice starts to tap out after about two hours, so I’m now having a cup of herbal tea and resting my voice before I hit it again tonight.
