Hi guys, been a bit busy last few weeks with decorating and other domestic duties. I've managed to make the time to come up with this Italian Slate clockface finished with gold paint. Let me know what you think. Bye for now😊.

Hi guys, it's been a bit of a quiet week so I thought I'd experiment with an empty Tobasco Sauce bottle, and turn it into a Worcester Sauce bottle instead! Not altogether sure it's worked - what do you think?? See you next week.

Hi guys, Happy Easter! Today we finish the process of making a pair of bookends.
After the second coat of paint has dried on the lettering, the surplus paint is sanded off of the marble to reveal the finished paintwork. The letterd panel is then postioned and glued to the other component parts. Once dried, the bookend is turned base up to be fitted with felt feet to prevent damage to whatever surface it is placed on. This completes the process, in a choice of two sizes, 4" or 6". I hope you found this of some interest. As I've said before, there's more work involved than might be first thought!
Until next time, bye.

Hello again guys, I hope you're all doing well. Continuing with the topic of how to make this type of bookend, today I'll explain the next stage of the process.
Once the piece has had the stencil centred and affixed to it, any remaining exposed parts that do not require blasting are covered with gaffer tape for protection from the blast media. The stencil is then 'weeded', meaning that the parts to be blasted are exposed by way of removing the surplus material from the stencil. Each letter is then blasted to a depth of between 3-4mm. Following this, the stencil and gaffer tape are removed and each letter/number is painted with a specialist paint. Once dry, each letter is given a second coat of paint to ensure longevity. This is where we'll wrap it up for today. As you can see, this is not the quickest of jobs to do! Until next time, cheers!

Hi again guys. I thought today I'd run through the process of making a set of bookends. I'll spread it over a few weeks so that I hopefully don't bore the pants off you!
Firstly, the component parts are cut to size. For this item there are three pieces. Then all seen edges are polished and bevelled and the areas to be glued are keyed up. Next the base and upright are glued together and the third piece is prepared for blasting, which is where I'll leave it for this week. Cheers!

Hi guys, I've experimented with a different clock face and would appreciate your comments. I can't decide whether this is an idea worth pursuing or whether I should stick to the traditional look that I recently showed you. There's also a couple of photo's of some riven slate coasters I've made that I'd be happy to have your opinions on. Cheers!

Hi folks, as a footnote to my last post I thought I'd better explain a couple of the items in a bit more detail. The clock was an experiment that seems to have attracted quite a bit of interest. This particular one is approx. 6" in diameter, is made from polished Carrara marble and can come as a wall or mantle clock. There are other variations on the theme that I'll be bringing you soon! The pen and business card holder with the clear crystal acrylic Rhinestone in honed Carrara marble is another recent idea that I'm pretty pleased with. Both of these are available from fb marketplace or from Little Melon village stores. There will be more to show you very soon!

Hi guys, I'm really pleased to announce that, for those of you that are local to Little Melton, John and Barbara at Little Melton village stores have kindly agreed to display a few examples of my work along with some illustrations of the kind of things that I make. Here are a few photo's of what I've been up to, including general blasting work, since I last posted. Until next time.

Hi guys! Well, it's been almost 2 1/2 years since my last post😲
What with knee replacements and Covid I didn't think you'd want me rambling on about sandblasting!! However, now Boris has said everything is back to normal🤦🏻‍♂️
It's time to get back on the horse! I've not been totally idle though, so you'll soon be seeing what I've been doing with my time.
I'll be back!!!
