What an AMAZING week at Colorguard and Drum Major camp! Our group of students worked so hard and it paid off in a BIG way! 4 Excellent individual ratings, 11 Superior individual ratings, and 7 All-Star individual ratings! 3 of our guard members made the All-Star Hall of Fame for being in the top 10% of All-Stars at camp!
If that weren't enough, they had final performances tonight, where both the colorguard and drum major performed ADVANCED routines and walked away with SUPERIOR trophies!
What an outstanding start to our marching season! Be prepared, because this band is ready to show up and show out!
Tonight is the end of the year meeting. If you have a student enrolled in the Trumann Wildcat Bands please make plans to attend. We will be talking about next year's marching show, next year's schedule, future plans, and how you can help this band be the best it can be.

We just got exciting news from the Music Department at ASU! We had 6 middle school students who were selected to perform with the Mid-South Honor Band this year! These students will represent Trumann with a wonderful concert! We hope to see you there!
A huge shout out to the students who tried out this week for these sections! Congratulations to those who made it!

The schedule for ASBOA Region V Concert Assessment has been released! Your students have been working extremely hard since coming back from Winter Break to prepare for this contest.
The contest is on March 7th, and we perform at 5:00pm at Jonesboro High School's Performing Arts Center.
We hope you will come out and support our students as they perform. They would love to see you there.
To say we are proud of Jayce is an understatement of the year. He has been at Arkansas State University the past two days, representing our district in the ASBOA All-Region Band. Jayce rehearsed all day yesterday and this morning with some of the best musicians in our region. He has gotten compliments from multiple directors in the region. He competed against 109 other trumpet players and placed 2nd, which earned him a spot in the top band. They are about to give a concert after only practicing 10 hours.
Keep building yourself as a musician, Jayce. We are incredibly proud of you, and can't wait to see where this journey takes you!

Now that it's 5pm on Monday and the scores are official...
We would like to take a moment to congratulate trumpet player, Jayce Poor.
This weekend Jayce competed against 109 trumpet players in the ASBOA Region V Junior High All-Region Band auditions. Out of 109 trumpeters, Jayce auditioned well enough to earn the 2nd trumpet spot!
This means Jayce will be representing Trumann Wildcat Bands as the 2nd best trumpeter in the entire region!
Jayce will attend a 2-day conference in January and give a concert with all of the highest-scoring junior high musicians of our region!
Congratulations, Jayce! We are so proud of you!

Our clarinet players had an excellent treat today! We had a visit from Dr. Erin Cameron. She is the clarinet professor at Arkansas State University. She came to our campus to work with all of our clarinetists, from beginners to seniors! Everyone loved learning more about their clarinet. Thank you, Dr. Cameron!
We regret to inform you that this Saturday's competition at ASU has been cancelled. The weather forecast is calling for rain all day. Dr. Steven Riley (Director of Athletic Bands) met with various weather professionals and ASU Safety Management, and ultimately decided that it would be unsafe to hold the event this year.
